  • Ayush Paper recently sent me some of their fountain pen friendly paper to test out, so in this video, I present my general impressions as well as tests for feathering, bleed through, sheen, and a bit of shading. Overall, I like this paper quite a bit, though it is on the heavy side.

    Hello my friends! Unfortunately, RUclips didn't manage to process the HD and 4K versions of this video when I originally uploaded it, so I had to re-upload it, and now it seems to be working fine. Unfortunately, that means that all of your likes and comments from the first day have been deleted, too... so if you have a chance, please LIKE and comment, even if you already did! Thanks :-)

    Matthew - what blue ink do we see in the first moments of the video? Very bright even after drying, which is appealing.

      Hmm. The one in the Click pen with the flex nib? I'm not sure about that one, unfortunately. According to my Black n Red notebook, that pen was inked at the end of March with Pilot Iroshizuku tsuyu-kusa, but it's possible that I might have re-inked it before working on this video (unfortunately, that the "in theory" part of my ink book). It might be Krishna Kolkata, if it's not tsuyu-kusa.

    I wish you had mentioned if all the notebooks had perforated pages. I saw one did but did not know which one specifically,

    But you didn't compare the price of the papers
    Ayush is way more cheaper then Cosmo or the other papers

    • @thewetpen
      @thewetpen  2 года назад +3

      I did mention the prices, but towards the end of the video... at about 14:47 . The unfortunate fact is that Ayush paper is wonderfully inexpensive in India, but here in the USA, looking at a price-per-page cost, Ayush is quite a bit more expensive than Rhodia or Clairfontaine, and about the same as Tomoe River. I do really prefer the weight of Ayush for some things, though.

      @@thewetpen sorry didn't watch till the end,but one has to question the US customs to reduce the import taxes.
      Speaking of Ranga a friend gave it one old professor we know to try he was dumbfounded by it's beauty and thought it was a japenese pen he was like it has the simplicity and beauty of a japenese pen they do stand out and attract attention you can easily pass it as a expensive hand crafted(which they are) pen

    Olá! Excelente vídeo, parabéns! Você pode indicar uma tinta azul vibrante que tenha grande sombreamento? estou em busca de um azul que me deixa feliz ☺️. Obrigado.

    • @thewetpen
      @thewetpen  2 года назад +1

      That's tricky... generally, "vibrant" and "shading" don't go together well, since shading requires an ink to be a little more thin and watery so that part of the line can be light. You might want check out my video about Krishna Peacock.. it has a little shading, and also Pennonia Kékek Kékje (Blue of Blues). Waterman Serenity Blue is common and less expensive, but quite good. Good luck!

      @@thewetpen Neste caso eu abro mão do "vibrante" e fico com apenas com um azul com sombreamento. Obrigado.

    I find this paper a little too toothy for fountain pens.

    A bit expensive and also not worth it for money.
