The man in the basement you rescued, who burned the Bathouse, is Yoko's son. In Monk's note, killing the son says hold off so the monk is keeping him there all this time. I don't know for what reason the Monk decided to keep him alive to torture. The Pink Old lady's granddaughter is the first sacrifice that's why she placed flowers at the entrance and then Maina's the second. Erena will be the third that's why the spirit was set free in the bad ending.
The yokai Ubume is about a spirit of a woman that died during childbirth or while pregnant. It has connection with the doll you threw in the trash. It's actually an interesting concept but for me didn't get presented well by Chilla's art.

So, for anyone who doesn’t know, “Ubume” are yokai of women who died during childbirth. (Yokai are a type of spirits, in Japanese folklore, who differ in behavior as well as their appearances.) It’s common to bury the fetus with the mother, who has died during childbirth, and place it in the women’s arms as if she’s hugging her child. Though, in some regions of Japan, it is not legal to cut out the fetus. So, as an alternative, a doll is placed in the arms of the mother, instead of the child. This could’ve been why there were dolls in the apartment rooms. Though, it’s still kinda unclear why the monk wanted to create an Ubume.

@@anriegambilous they made the wanted poster because they wanted to kill the son, that guy that was pissing outside was the ghost and the priests son. The priest tried killing the pissing guys mother(who is now a ghost)before the pissing guy could be born but was too late. The guy wanted revenge for his mother I’m guessing but they caught him when cory let him into the bath. They imprisoned him in the basement but cory freed him, and so he burned the bathhouse down with the priest and landlord inside.
