About the band
Find a blend of pop rock and poetic folk in the acoustic beats of Prateek Kuhad. Born in Jaipur, India, Prateek grew up playing the guitar and training vocally in Indian classical music. His influences are eclectic and range from Nick Drake and Elliot Smith to Pearl Jam and Jimi Hendrix. After weaving through diverse musical genres he found a sense of direction after attending a jazz workshop in Prague where he began fusing different styles to reach his own unique sound.
His heartfelt lyrics and the timbre of his resonant voice artfully capture life’s everyday thoughts and experiences, while his tunes and rhythms wrap the words gently into song. His second release, an EP titled “Raat Raazi” released on the 18th of August 2013 to rave reviews resulting in Prateek being booked to play at all 4 editions of the Bacardi NH7 Weekender in 2013. He has also performed in cities around the world including New York, Prague and New Orleans. He was chosen from amongst thousands of applicants by Indaba Music to perform at the Cutting Edge Music Business Conference in New Orleans in 2012. He has also performed at some eminent music festivals in India like the NH7 Weekender, Escape Festival of Arts and Music and Baajaa Gaajaa. Named as one of the “five Delhi based musicians to watch out for” in the Hindustan Times, Prateek Kuhad is a singer songwriter who is striking the right chords in the world of music.

The DIY Day is a day long festival, working towards promoting and celebrating the independent art movement in Delhi. This day will have music, stand up and theatre performances, which we are planning to record and upload and independent film screenings as well, alongside stalls setup by budding artists and entrepreneurs.
The First DIY was held on the 26th of April, 2014 at the Akshara Theatre featuring several independent artists and independent thinkers. The DIY Day is an initiative to support the independent art scene in Delhi and the event was crowdfunded.
