I think what happened here is the Gold Kryptonite wedding band from the finale as it was never destroyed.
That he chose to give up his powers for a normal life he always wanted and allowed Conner to take the mantle of Superman. (This fits well in the story, giving it a logical conclusion.)

@@samuel_ouma it was a special crossover for the Arrowverse..DC. Shows... Based on the "Crisis on infinite earths" comic....it was a dope crossover...but felt rushed at times...there was alot of cameos from diff DC properties.. worth the watch... I think it spanded over like 5 or 6 episodes...
I just thought he was immune from being exposed to it so much in the Smallville series.
