I was so hopeful that iPhone's Photographic Styles would rival the Pixel's incredible color rendering. Sadly, they fell short, the Pixel deserves recognition.
Google never underpromised and in fact are still the best in Android for supporting their device / software.. let alone, they just added 2 more years of updates for Pixel 6/7 series.
That's good but the hardware of these phone's are not surviving that long and if you are a little bit of a tech nerd, you are not using the same phone 5-6+ years
I used to rock the 16 Pro Max and the Pixel 9 Pro XL but recently sold the Pixel for the Vivo X200 Pro. Now I get a much better camera and while I lose 3 years of android OS updates (4 on Vivo vs 7 on Google), I’m perfectly happy as I no longer have to deal with the crappy base iPhone 12 performance at flagship prices of the Pixel. It’s ludicrous that that Google is charging premium prices for a 2020 flagship performance.
Orrrr you're a psycho like me and just daily both a Pixel (6 Pro) and an iPhone (13 Mini). I thought this would be the last year for my Pixel, but Google announced 2 more years of support!
Fellow psycho here lol (iPhone 15 Pro Max and Pixel 9 Pro XL) I upgraded from my 6 Pro because of a great carrier deal, and I thought it was out of updates(glad to see the extended the support). I gotta say, I’m so glad I did upgrade, the Pixel 9 Pro XL is amazing!!!
@ hell yeah! We are the ones actually winning by not being brand loyal lol. Lowkey, I’ve almost traded in my P6P for the 9 a few times, but it’s been so good that I decided to wait until it’s out of updates or the battery is bad. I will say though, the 9 Pros look so damn good!
@@InnerFire6213 I don’t blame you. I almost ditched my iPhone for good recently. I only like it because it’s the mini, otherwise I would’ve given it to a family member and switched to a new Pixel.
@@Trevor274 the 9 Pro XL fixed my complaints about my 6 Pro. The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is great, cell reception is great when I travel, and battery life is amazing! This is the first time I can HIGHLY recommend a Pixel to anyone asking me about phones
Who's paying these folks to talk people into base models? Why don't you talk Apple into making a proper base model with no compromises? (60Hz, for one)
Google pixel 9 pro xl is only available in 1TB in black, whereas the the iPhone is available in 1TB in every color option apple have on offer. I'm not saying this makes the iPhone better, but sure does suck that if i want a 1tb pixel 9 pro xl, it has to be black
My iPhone 15 Pro Max does not work in direct. Either gets too hot or I can’t see the screen. Nobody talks about this iPhones are absolutely garbage and direct sunlight.
I've been using the pixel for a long time now. But the Vivo x200 pro for USD700 where I live, is a good draw for me. Google has been on a trend of making better AI, instead of better phones. Unfortunately, I belong to that group that's just tired of hearing AI everywhere. Additionally, the pixel photos have started to look way too processed for me and it keeps getting more processed every year. In my line of work, I tend to zoom and crop on some pictures I take and the digital noise and artifacts is just in abundance lately. It's still a good phone for what seems to be $900-$1000+ but I shouldn't be paying that much for something that's "just a phone" - especially if I'm gonna use my phone for both work, travel and recreation. If I'm paying $100 for a meal, I wanna be paying for a buffet, not a branded pasta.
The most fun I’ve had on an iPhone was the 13 mini. I loved the form factor. I now have the 15 pro and no way was I going to upgrade this year. I want a new mini or I’m moving over to android. And I’ve been using iPhone since the 3GS!
Come on Jon QPR1 update isn’t even updated on your Pixel in the video which enhances so many things especially the brand new animation on Pixel. Experience is much better with December update (QPR1) all in all. Also 16 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro owner here.. for non “Max and XL” variants, Pixel 9 and 9 Pro has noticably better battery life than standard 16 and 16 Pro. It’s objectively better for smaller variants.
Hope there is only one iPhone, one pixel phone, one galaxy phone but in different sizes like 5.4, 5.8, 6.2, 6.5, 6.9 inches... this greedy business world makes our mind too greedy! 😢
You know it’s the screens mostly for me I dip between both ecosystems year to year and with the money I’ve put aside for phones this year I’m out of the running for a 16pro but I am in the running for a pixel 9pro that said , I also would like a larger screen so the 16 plus I’m still an option but that 60hz screen hurts 😢
@ I can tell a difference in the screen resolution between the two and it’s definitely noticeable (especially in light mode). Of course the iPhone 16 is “only 60 hz” but I would take that over a worse screen resolution any day
If you do resell your phones when upgrading, getting a pixel doesn't necessarily save you money as the iphone will have a higher value so you can make back more of the money you spent when compared to the pixel 9. I personally haven't resold any of my phones yet but that is something to consider. On top of that, money isn't the only thing to consider here when talk about the cost of the phone. How much personal data does Google collect from Pixel phones? If you value you personal data, that should be considered as a part of the price you pay, and even though Apple also collects some personal data, it seems like they collect far less than Google. I personally am not sure whether I prefer paying more for less data collection or not yet, but definitely should be considered imo.
Pixel phones are nice when new and then fall off faster as their chips are inferior from the get go. That is the main reason for not seeing any pixel 6,7,8 long term user videos. All of these guys make a lot of noise about pixel phones and once the hype dies out switch to the iPhones and Samsungs. 😂
Last year, I switched from Android to iPhone. I switched from the 9-year-old OnePlus One to the iPhone 15. *I knew that the iPhone 15 had 60Hz refresh.* I didn't care. I had been used to 60Hz for over a decade. This refresh rate was perfectly okay with me. Yes, I've played with 120Hz refresh devices. I was wholly unimpressed. So does it bother me that a $799 phone has 60Hz refresh? Not at all. Unlike some people, I'm not anal about it.
Amusing that every tech reviewer has to comment on whether a phone rocks when flat on the table. In the real world nobody ever checked that out before buying or cared as you never use a phone that way.
In the end, Face ID is a game changer. I will never use a fingerprint on a phone, they just slow me down and annoy me. The fact that you can Face ID lock any app on the phone is just a big bonus. Otherwise, phones are getting so good, it’s more about iOS vs android than anything else.
Ive had iPhones for years and haven’t went to the 120Hz display of the iPhone. Not because I can’t but I don’t really care. You can hardly tell between the 60Hz and the 120Hz. If you can is because you’re really looking for it. I pay for what I want but is just not something I really need.
