    I know I’m late, but it’s since no one said it, I will.
    1. The Ruinous Pokémon are heavily inspired by Chinese culture, with their designs and names. And Kitakami is a very Japanese location, so it seems a little off.
    2. Ogrepon having four masks specifically is a reference to Fujiwara no Chikata who summoned four Onis(or ogres).

    Personally I'm pretty sure that the Treasures of Ruin predate Ogerpon's masks by a rather large margin, but given that the quartet originate from a faraway Eastern land (perhaps Kitakami itself?), the mask maker was probably well aware of the legends surrounding these Pokemon. However, I'm not convinced that the mask maker would model Ogerpon's masks after the Ruinous Quartet, given that the purpose of the masks was to make the townsfolk less afraid of Ogerpon and her human friend... but given that masks resembling Ogerpon's Teal Mask are sold at the festival in modern day, perhaps it's just culturally acceptable in Kitakami to wear masks that make you look like a fearsome legendary monster on certain festival days. Kind of like Halloween.

      Respectfully kitakami seems to be more a Japan based region and based off the fish, the names, and the ruinous seal symbols and the bowl from the deer looking one, I think they’re all from some kinda China themed region

      @@BernieTheDevastatorthe ruinous treasures are definitely more Chinese inspired like Urshifu. Ogerpon is very much Japanese inspired and Kitakami is a real life place in Japan. I think they relation between Ogerpon and the ruinous Pokémon is merely coincidental.

      @@itsturniptime3699 o yea. All that from paldea plus kubfu and mustard. They’re also evidence of a China inspired region. Maybe not gen 10 but def sometime soon

      @@BernieTheDevastator There have been many Chinese references across the series. Unfortunately due to political events and controversy I doubt we’ll be getting a full blown Chinese region in the next decade or more.

    The only thing is that the masks don't really match the likeness of each one, especially due to the ice legendary and the water mask

      And they already stated that they were crafted from scratch, not from other Pokémon

    I've always wondered why these Chinese inspired Pokémon are in the Iberian Peninsula, this kimda makes sense

      Because of chinas historic connection with the Iberian peninsula through the silk road

    I honestly think it’s a bit of stretch. It is interesting to think the merchant was from kitakami, but the eastern region they were from is maybe a hint to a future region we will get. It’s interesting to think about though, so nice work and good video

    I don't want to he mean but this theory makes NO sense, their typing does not match, the emotions of them do not match one bit either, like, ok, the masks and the treasures are all 4, so? That's nothing!

    Ok so I’m not crazy for noticing the similarities. My question is what’s the connection between the masks and ruinous pokemon? We’re their treasures and the masks both made of tera crystals?

    • @itsturniptime3699
      @itsturniptime3699 11 месяцев назад

      The treasures of ruin were made from the various negativity of the people who suffered under the king of Paldea at the time. Seemingly no connection to Tera crystals at all

    The only real similarities I'm seeing is the connections to Majora's Mask, which could be 1 of the inspirations for the creations of the Teal Mask DLC.

    Maybe just make open world games for the first time causes the developers to more frequently lean on the Chinese compass gods and conpass elements for inspiration.
