How to Add Smart Home Devices to Home Assistant - ruclips.net/video/-y5ofKHDXmw/видео.html
The video is so clean that you got a shout out from the man, myth, and legend Andreas Spiess. I imagine you'll see rapid increase in your sub count for sure. Great video!
That is so cool of him to do that.
@@NickRains that's our dream as smaller RUclipsrs right? Good luck with your channel!
Great presentation step by step for beginners! Thanks
At 2:34 note that he says "semi-colon" (;) and means "colon" (:). Great video!
When does the video about the Dashboard released? Great videos sad that there is so much time in between the realeses
What kind of SSD to usb adapter do you have? The one that you plugged into the kingston SSD?
It’s the startech SSD to USB adapter listed in the description. amzn.to/3FpeQcY
I don't see the cheaper 4GB model for the Raspberry Pi Kit used in this video. Could you provide a link?
Nice video, what would the storage be used for, ie the 240 SSD. Just system files or something else?
240gb is definitely overkill for most. But I’ve been making some custom icons and backgrounds that is starting to take up a fair amount of space
Thank you for your sharing!!! Would you make a video about how to connect xiaomi device to HA?
Any device in particular?
how to add new device without login to 3rd party app first ?
Hey I want to install and use home assistant on windows with D-Link router without internet is it possible?
Can I install Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi running HOOBS on a SSD?
Is there anyway to first, run home assistant on a pi zero 2 w? Also is there a way to use wifi instead of LAN? Just wondering
You can do Wifi but in my experience it was very buggy and took several additional steps.
I’m not sure about the zero 2, I haven’t used one yet. But I’m guessing if you did get it to work, it wouldn’t take long for you to overload it.
Not being picky, but this ":" is a colon, NOT a semi-colon, which is this ";" - getting these mixed up is asking for trouble when you're coding
I have a raspberry pi 3. Will it work even though I don't have USB 3.0?
I think you could at least get started, but if you add enough devices or do too many automations it will bog it down. I say use it to get started and see how you feel when pi prices get back to normal, or the pi 5 comes out 🤷♂️
I see you have an Apple Watch, will you run it with HomeKit and Siri?
I have a few videos and projects I’m working on finishing, then I plan on adding home bridge to my home assistant. Home assistant already works pretty well with Siri and the Apple Watch though if I’m honest.
Can the SD card be removed once the Home Assistant is running on the SSD? Or do you need both?
Once you are done writing the initial script to boot from usb, and after you power down the pi, you can remove the sd card. 👍 I hope you enjoy your home assistant journey
How do i do if i don´t have a extra SSD, but want to run HA on the same SD card that holds RPI OS?
If you don’t have an ssd, you can still run Home Assistant with the micro as card. I did it for months. And if you’re able to get an ssd later, you can transfer your data to the ssd
I have never gotten a pi to be able to run an external hard drive without dedicated power.
They work fine with no undervoltage indications whatsoever if using a beefy enough powersupply and an SSD, HDD's however are rarely stable unless they have their own power supply, been there, done that, the stupid blinking red light on the PI and occasional weird whizzy noises from the HDD drove me crazy.
for some reason I keep getting connection refused when trying to connect to rpi3 with fresh install using the pi3 image in the Pi Imager... any suggestions? it's a brand new SD card and a pi I used to use for retro gaming... I've tried by hostname and ip:8123
Looks like there may be an issue with the pi3 img… I burned the rpi4 img to a spare pi4 I have and it seems to be working/connecting as expected…
