That has to be the highest compliment you can get, as an NBA player. Kobe Bryant wants to shoot with you, because he thinks so much of your ability that he wants to analyze your shot, to protect himself from it.
JJ ur pro career didn’t quite pan out the way you expected and I regularly disagree with your points on ESPN 😂, but you were a KILLER at Duke and one of the best college shooters ever. Mamba was studying you for a reason bro. I GUARANTEE Kobe got what he looking for 🤷🏾♂️. Good luck coaching in LA
Let JJ tell it, Kobe was studying his shot… two days later reality comes crashing into JJ’s fantasy via Melo that Kobe absolutely hated JJ Redick, especially during Team USA. Cut it out
I don’t think he hated JJ. He was just fueled by coach k always talking about JJ during the Olympics. And JJ is a shooting guard so Kobe had to show the kid who was king. That’s all
He didn’t hate JJ. In that particular usa practice, he went hard at JJ bc of Coach K. But in JJ’s episode with Shaq, JJ mentioned that Kobe always treated him good.
😂 Nah JJ, quit it 🛑!! That man was insanely talented in college and did a dope job in the NBA. Only one thing ☝🏾 upset was his comments to the legend MrWest. Kobe was obsessed with the Game just like his idol MJ.
Jj is one hella of a shooter n he will be one hell of a head coach lakers may easily have the best young coachnin the league im calling it now n standingnon it
I would have been cool with Kobe wake me up at 6:00 a.m. to go shoot but knowing me I would have started doin him one better meet me on the court at 4:00 am😢😢😢
Both of you dumbasses don’t know how Kobe worked. Of course he was trying to learn to try and get a competitive edge and JJ was an excellent shooter regardless if he’s a role player.
Clearly Kobe was insanely better, but Kobe was always willing to learn the smallest detail from any player. It didn’t matter who. He probably saw something in JJ’s shooting that he wanted to study a little further, & that’s why he offered JJ the shootaround.
I think Kobe did pick up something from JJ. The one thing I recognized about Kobe, is they he didn’t waste his time when it came learning anything he focused on. So if he wanted to shoot around with you and you noticed him studying your movements. He definitely picked up something to incorporate into his game. You don’t have to be great player for others to learn something from you.
Rob: thank you for coming. JJ im going to ask you one question ok. JJ: ok shoot. Rob: JJ What's 2+2? JJ: SERIOUSLY? Rob: yeah im just reading what labron wrote down. Oh by the way when LW was coaching labron really did want to slam dunk that ball but he slipped on a wet spot 😮😢😅
Even if he didn’t pull something he still warranted the evaluation from Kobe which is saying something. Him and MJ didn’t waste time with lazy subpar players

Lakers head coach man, full circle moment. I think the spirit of Kobe had a part in this
Too humble JJ... You're a hell a shooter bro!!!
He was talking about his shooting performance. JJ knows he was a good shooter.
Ik jj was a problem
What did he average? 18 a game? Even jj said, "I wasn't that good."
JJ is humble he was a fucking sniper
That just shows no matter how good, or bad there’s always something to learn from another.
Exactly. Even if you don't think of yourself to learn from.
Rest In Peace Kobe And Gigi Bryant🕊️
JJ is one of my favorite NBA personalities. Humble, smart, funny and cocky when he needs to be. All around great dude
Meh he's a stat-bro and has made some controversial, and outright ignorant comments at times.

We got so many versions of Kobe during his evolution and I thank the 🏀Gods for that 😢
He wasn't learning he was hunting
Kobe was simply intelligent and absorbed things like a sponge. Always observant.
Mamba will always be missed. Rest in peace.
If anything JJ's effort can be used like homework to reinforce what Kibe already knew. Basically comparing mechanics
There is something very insincere about this man.
Best comment thus far!
We gonna see on the 50th or 100th game bud.
Kobe was cultured. A life long learner.
Hes trying to channel the spirit of Kobe to help him on his coaching job.
