'Kitty' is the 2nd single from forthcoming new album, ‘Moments In Time’, which will be released on Friday 29 September 2023 coinciding with Finbar's 77th Birthday. The 1st single 'Blue Jewel In The Sky' was released in 2020, but Covid19 delayed the release of the album.
Finbar says of 'Kitty':-
'Shane MacGowan asked me specially to sing 'Kitty' for his 60th birthday. It was one of his mother's favourite traditional Irish songs. It's a beautiful song which I love singing, and when I added it to my concert setlist it always got an amazing reaction from the audience.’

A very beautiful song, sung by a man with one of the most gifted voices of all time. Always hoped to attend one of his performances in Canada, but it never happened. However, I rejoice in the fact that I was able to access the remarkable musical gifts/ talents of Finbar Furey, as well as his brothers Eddie, George, Paul, & Davey Arthur, through his/their various VCR & audio recordings, of which I have a few. Their musical parents were wise, indeed, and deserve much praise for making sure to cultivate the musical gifts that they saw in each of their sons. Their father's violin pieces are most enjoyable to hear & to watch. What a wonderfully musical home it must have been, where both parents were musicians who made sure to teach their sons the most beautiful languages of all time.....the languages of music and voice. None of them can probably ever really know the pleasure & peaceful enjoyment that the beauty of their music & voices have given to many people, worldwide. A thank you seems so small, compared to the enormity of their contribution to the world of music. But, I will say it anyway. Tapadh Leibh gu mòr; agus sìth, sonas agus slàinte mhath dhuibh daonnan.

Gorgeous rich beautiful vocals that Take me back. The Fureys (with Davy Arthur) where among my favourite bands in the 70/80s, saw them live at least once I think in a folk club in St Albans near London.
