- Ok well, this was a fun video to make, had this idea yesterday while on the toilet, and just couldn’t seem to find any content like this. To be fair though, who the hell would watch this sort of thing, doesn’t seem very algorithm anyways, but I dunno I kinda just did it myself
I don’t feel like the walking routes I used were the most five star thing I could’ve done to be honest, like jumping three times you wouldn’t realistically hear in game. Most times you’d want to be hearing footsteps through walls as well so that’s also a doodoo on my part, but if I would have to record every wall footstep in the game I wouldn’t see the end of it, and so I didn’t. Ok but why do you show the sheriff side strafing and strafe operator scope? I kinda thought that the knife out running footsteps would kinda be unrealistic, so I used the sheriff because it has the same movement speed as the rifles and so I thought the slower pace of the steps would be more true. Then the scoped op is like one of the slowest movement speed that makes noise so just wanted the long interval between steps.
So that’s like 4 ish hours in a custom game trying to figure out tiny nuances between each steplegit just ran around Ascent with each agent under different materials, keep in mind- THIS VIDEO WAS ONLY FOR CONCRETE FLOOR, so imagine every other material: sand, dirt, grass, wood, water, mud, glass, and then I’m pretty sure there’s hollow AND hard metal? Further testing required but god forbid I do every other material of floor. Just keep in mind that they more or less sound the same as concrete, but some sounds get skewed depending on the material, most maps you’ll hear them on concrete anyways so yeah.
And yes I muted a very small part of sova’s clip, it was basically because I rushed to re-record it and so, two discord notifications that I couldn’t care to remove or rere-record it. Muted for your ears’ convenience.
Thanks to Kitkat and Kira for being test dummies
Didnt even knew that different agents would have different footsteps. This as well can be very helpful. Thanks
this video is so underrated wtf. this was well thought out and so helpful thanks so much
Thanks mate appreciate it
going down the rabbit hole of valorant asmr
chambers footsteps souds like someones playing minecraft
Yoru giving his clone some self-love at the end 😅
i think omen sounds basic af because he isnt really carrying anything so nothing on him makes much noise
i love how accurate the descriptions are!! great video! ^-^
thank you for thinking that phoenix have like wet sound😂😂 i thought the same
came here bc the same idea js popped in my head and thought "is there a content about this online?" then boom! this is so cool bro
Lmaoooo glad to help my guy we all here to learn after all
I love how near the ending the descriptions get more off the rails - "I don't know if I'm tripping out" but still being extremely accurate. good vid!
Hahaha yeah as the editing went on my mind went with it 😂
I played after yoru’s rework so interesting to see that he didn’t have the clone but just fake foot noise
Great video. This is a hidden part of valorant which will be used by pros in the future for call outs as the game evolves
Pros already do lol
pros already know this lol
I liked the descriptions you put. Do you plan on doing another with all the other agents
Perhaps I’ll wait for them to make another batch of agents, that way it can be a full length video just like this one
thanks man
No prob
Only reyna is the most obvious different than others based on my ears
Same here hahaha
thanks for the video
how do we differentiate when there are different materials they can walk on?
For the video I chose for the agents to walk on stone since I feel it’s the most common floor material. There are also other floor materials like wooden, dirt, grass, snow, hollow metal, dense metal, glass, and surely a lot more materials. For all of these materials you are still able to hear the special sounds that each agent make, but in my experience it’s a bit tougher to discern than regular stone floor (ie hollow metal floor material, where the agent-specific footstep sounds are masked by the loud and clunky metal).
For tips on how to differentiate the steps if you aren’t sure, one is to look to see who is alive, and discern the footstep from there (example is if you hear heavy footsteps but there’s only a phoenix, jett, omen that are alive, we know that jett and omen have light footsteps, while phoenix has heavy steps. We can discern from process of elimination that we hear a phoenix, even if you are not sure for certain). That is more or less the best way to discern footsteps if you arent sure, a lot of it can also be from context, (you wont see a killjoy go into site before jett or smth) just play off of the information that you have and you should be alright. At the end of the day, being able to discern footsteps is one hell of a skill, but shouldnt take away from what you should actually be improving on lmao. i made the video just because i was bored and had time, and in the grand scheme of valorant, is a very petty topic to discuss about.
Regardless, im very glad that you stumbled across my video, please lemme know if you have any tips or if theres anything you do to differentiate footsteps, always happy to learn and hear from the community. c:
@@redguyraf9977 thanks for the thorough reply
Is there a video about new agents footsteps?
Not yet but maybe when they release another batch of 10+ more agents, then I’ll make a new video
Hell yeah @@redguyraf9977
