Wait til one goes in your eye, which I’ve had happen😬. You do what you need to do to protect yourself! People will get over it! Bless this little lady.
Bless her little heart. Does athlete’s foot cause toenail fungus? I’ve read that and wondered if that could be a cause to get a toenail fungus? Thank you doctor for helping all these precious older people, you’re a doll and may God Bless you and keep you safe. 🙏🏻♥️
They have footless compression socks now, along with the regular and open toe ones. I use the footless ones most of the time because I can put them on without the sock tool.
For athlete foot fungal infection treatment do you recommend vinegar soaks either using apple cider or white vinegar with part water or using mouthwash for a foot soaking?
My hack for applying vicks - use a new toothbrush. The handle provides length and the bristles really coat the nails well. I also use a step stool to put my feet on. Saves my back!
Your patient could use a long strip of gauze to clean and or dry between the toes after bath or shower. You patient could also drop the towel on top of the foot, using the other foot to rub it.
These podiatrist channels are entertaining as well as educational. A hint to putting on compression socks.........roll the tops down quite a bit and put that over your foot. Pull it in place over your foot then unroll it up your let.......much much easier.
What makes the nail so thick? Is it fungus that is dried out, or diabetes, or because they don't get cut often? My 2 sisters and I are all diabetic. Their nails are thick like these but mine are "normal". Both of them have neuropathy and can't feel their feet. I have it in my hands and feet but I feel pain. My older sister gets open sores/ulcers on her feet that take MONTHS to heal. She has to take time off of work because she can't walk on them. My feet don't hurt often but I have the nubs from my Crocs embedded in my feet..even when I'm not wearing my Crocs and wearing regular shoes or walking on the floor I can still feel the nubs..is this normal? Will it ever go away? I'm sorry for asking so much. I'd like to know what I can expect, maybe, so I can prepare for it or prevent it.
I do like your channel, but it shocks me how bad your clients feet actually get. It's a reflection of the inequalities in healthcare in the USA. In the UK, if you're diabetic, you get free foot care and podiatry, plus all your medication is free.
Even in the UK it depends where you live. As a Podiatrist who has worked in several health trusts I know not all diabetics automatically get free nail care. In some areas there is no nail care on the NHS regardless of your health on the grounds that everyone's nails grow, it is not a medical condition, therefore not treated by the service.
Your health care isn't "free". You pay higher taxes to pay for it. Also have read horror stories involving the NHS regarding poor care, unavailable practioners, misdiagnosis. Examples of problems in health care in any system.
@@denisephillips9269 You also pay high taxes. Additionally, I would rather pay higher taxes for a nationalised health system, which isn't dependent upon someone's income, it's dependent upon their need. Someone who doesn't work, or who is on a low income or is disabled, will get treated the same as someone who is on 50k/year. No, the NHS is far from perfect, and has (certainly in the last 10 years) been underfunded. But I would rather have our system a thousand times over than your barbaric system where people can go bankrupt or face losing their homes in order to get long-term or complicated treatments, or treatment that are at the mercy of insurance companies. I work in health care, and heard, first hand, from nurses who worked in the USA, as well as patients, who told me of their experience and how terrible it was. Oh, and are you saying your doctors don't make mistakes? That people don't get diagnosed currently? Yes, we have problems in the NHS, but I am proud of it.
@@carolineridgway9533 I thought everywhere got free? That's a shame. My mum used to get it free. She had an appointment every few weeks when someone visited her home to check her feet. She certainly wouldn't have been able to afford this.
@@denisephillips9269 LOL, you sound like someone who thinks socialism is the same thing as communism. You've been brainwashed! And yes, I'm an American and our system is terribly broken. Universal health care should be a right.
Having just been diagnosed with diabetes, my foot care scares me. I constantly stretch to touch my toes as this is number one problem in us seniors, some cannot reach the toes to get out debris under nails and between. Cost is a big issue, use to be free for seniors, now a cost, I guess the government thinks surgery to cut off a foot or leg is cheaper, thats our government. She has a toe swollen, red on right foot, that needed to be addressed while seeing Podiatrist. Could be cause of soreness that patient had wrapped. So does clean up let Podiatrist know now?
That tape she used looks like waterproof tape, it is hard on healthy skin. I have to tape my right little toe to keep it from flopping around now that most of its joints have been eaten away with arthritis. I use a paper tape and soak my foot in room temperature water for about 10 minutes and it comes off no residue of adhesive. If she has to tape anything she should try a paper tape with water soluble adhesive. Also she could try a sock aid to put the compression socks on and use a corn starch powder.
I was wondering why you didn’t soak the feet before you start trimming the toenails? Is that so you can better see what conditions you’re working with? I know they aren’t coming in for “pedicures” per se, just thought it’d be more comfortable for your patient and easier on your hands to trim those “nails”….
Your approach is very kind and professional and I enjoy your videos. My only suggestion is to refer to your clients as people first. In other words, "My client has diabetes" would be much more humanizing than saying, "Today we have a diabetic."
Whoever was holding the camera was moving a lot and alot of times the foot was at the very bottom of the camera and couldnt see much, especially when you pop the ads on in top for the oil or whatever. Hard to watch.
@@cynthiarooke7339no, but it’s dishonest to push it off as a “new video”.. and they do a horrible job of cutting nails..no water dremel, instead they let everyone inhale nail fungus particles in the air! 🤮 she cannot even cut nails properly! If i didn't live in England i would live near these podiatrists. Slow gentle, no rushing.
Why do you not soak the feet before cutting the nail?
That's my question to. If you soak the the feet it would be alot easier. I think you rush on their feet.
Great video! Can't wait to see the new tools :)
My son wouldn't hesitate to help me. I am so sorry this lady can't rely on hers.
Love your products! Use them everyday!

to keep things from flying into your eyes and mouth, you may want to try one of those acrylic full-face masks.
Compression sockz are awesome, I wear them all the tyme!!!!!
I hope you share a follow up with this patient.
Old but still awesome! 👍
Love showing the clean up!
It would be safe to keep ur eyes closed too!😂😂😂
An amazing improvement for this lady
That toe looks inflamed also the feet were to red along with her legs. I’m glad you will be taking care of her😢. 😊❤
The redness is from the leg swelling. An unfortunate byproduct.
@@e.starling141 I realize that. I was hoping that maybe was addressed or talked about. That’s a serious indication of bigger health issues.

Oldie but goodie. I think this one is at least a couple of years old.
Their own ad getting in the way of the clipping was annoying

What about cleaning the fungus out of that right big toe or your left
The Toe Bro has amazing water dremel that is amazing. I believe he sells them as well.
That's nice. Then buy one for yourself.
I heard her say she got new Dremels in. Hopefully she got the water ones!
Is warm water and epsom salt enough for soaking feet like this?
Yes. I suggest all my patients to weekly soak in warm water, even ordinary table salt will work.

WHY ARE YOU USING MASSIVE SIDE CUTTERS ON THIS LADY FEET..
NOT VERY PROFFESIONAL WORK
You need your assistant that is making the video to actually have the toes in the frame.
Why don’t they scrub the feet after to get rid of the crud.
