- In the midst of all the controversies centered around Pokémon GO's Avatar Update, the next phase of Rediscover Pokémon GO has just launched. We now have Biomes in Pokémon GO with a Kanto Event to kick things off. In this video, I will be going over the details for "Rediscover Kanto", and doing a test drive of the new Biomes!

Pokémon Go is a 2016 augmented reality (AR) mobile game developed and published by Niantic in collaboration with The Pokémon Company for iOS and Android devices. A part of the Pokémon franchise, the game is the result of a collaboration between Niantic, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. It is credited with popularizing location-based and AR technology, promoting physical activity, and helping local businesses grow due to increased foot traffic. However, it attracted controversy for contributing to accidents and creating public nuisances. Various governments expressed concerns about security, and some countries regulate its use. By early 2019, the game had over a billion global downloads, grossing over $3 billion in revenue. The game also had over 147 million monthly active users as of May 2018.

The Biomes are cool! Fix the Avatars!
It used to run buttery smooth for me… now the encounters are choppy and laggy
Monster Hunter Now has been doing biomes since launch, and the biomes switch around periodically so you aren't always encountering the same monsters in the same area over and over.
I prefer that biomes represents the real world instead of switching them. It makes the game more immersive.
Btw it would be interesting to know if MH players complain about the biomes as much as pokemon go players complain about biomes because in MH biomes were there since launch and in pokemon go it was added just now. My point is that people tend to complain about anything no matter what just because it is a big change
@@jonaskarlsson5901 biomes is always there. Look at the every new season page, there is city, mountain, beach spawns. They just added the background 😂
Don't care until they fix the avatars, so I have the outfit designs I paid for.
This update is not going to fix Niantic's issues. The lag on the catch screen is sooo bad. I catch better if I close my eyes and just use my muscle memory, if I look the ball I see is not where it is to the game. -_-

@furryweeber8711 yea I have a samsung s21 and its smooth. I understand the old phones though.
If you go into settings, you can find a setting called download all assets this allows you to directly download everything to your phone without needing a stronger connection to the server. Everything should be should be less laggy. 😅 but the fact you have to go into settings looking for this is kind of stupid
@@MEMEDUDE68928 I have done that already. I have turned off enhanced graphics, turned off reactive movement, refreshed my game data. I don't have an old phone -still paying it off! I can't justify buying a new over $600 phone just to play PokemonGo when the phone I have isn't even 2 years old yet.

I almost hate how much I love the new biomes and graphics for those becuase I am still so livid about what they did to my avatar. I know some people have lag and performance issues with it but I've had no such problems so this one has been a great update for me.
I believe there's an option to help with the lag that others talked about before launch. Have not confirmed yet.

Seems like another reason to encourage spoofing. People dont live near all the different biomes so if this keeps certain spawns away People will just get upset. Biomes could rotate like they do for events and just be enhanced if youre near the real biome.
Cool idea in theory but idk how well it works in reality once the new factor wears off

It was a poor decision to make this event overlap and override Sustainability Week. I really wanted that star dust and only see Kanto Pokemon in the wild. Sustainability monsters seem to only be in research.

The biome catch screens are really nice and i'm glad they put effort into their designs. I just hope the occasional lag spikes get fixed at some point. That was a big problem during the limited release and it seems people are still getting it
Download all assets in settings. I noticed the first time you go into a new biome there's lag, after that there isn't any. Also there's an enhanced graphics setting in advanved settings which you can turn off. In my experience it helps a lot with lag and ESPECIALLY battery. I'd only have enhanced visuals on if I just got my battery replaced.

I dont even have a hundo for all the 3 starters so im happy to evolve some 96% ones ^^
Also very happy with the map and encounter screen, the avatar update hit my OG fit a LOT but im now wearing other stuff and im ok with it
I just hope that with biomes my future walks in the contryside will bring more that 2 pokemons each 5km. It seems that far from pokestops or gyms pokemons are rare which in a real natural environment sound a bit stupid. I would expect to find more pokemons in the middle of nowhere as they are kind of animals isn't it ?
I guess it has to do with optimization. They don't want the game to lag for spawning too much pokemon maybe
forgot to mention Wigglet is released at beaches.

If I can't see the biomes on the map how do I know what biome I'm in. I live in a rural area. It's all the same here
The new graphics look really nice, Niantic did this one very well. I got the updates yesterday evening and haven't been out yet today, so I've seen only what's right around me, but it looks promising.
The new catch screens are especially nice. We got a lot of snow yesterday (unusual for this time of the year) and in the evening, the snowy catch screen looked really nice because it somehow managed to capture the "blue moment" that there really is during the winter during sundown.
I've missed all Charmander community days for a reason or another, so I don't have a shiny one yet. I don't really otherwise care for the Kanto Pokemon, but I want to catch me a shiny Charmander :D
Hopefully I wont need to travel somewhere now just to get a certain Pokémon. like the beach just to get that new penus shaped one.

that's the point of biomes. It makes it easier to find specific pokemon because you can go to a specific area to find them instead of just randomly waiting for them to spawn. Imagine a gps game that makes you move around
So I'm gonna say that Kanto pokemon will become increasingly more rare due to the constant introduction of later generations. Also the Kanto pokemon are the the most likely to get updates or new gimmicks. Like they got the megas, they get the gigantamax in the gen 8 games, who knows what gen 10 will come with but I would bet the Kanto starters are gonna get something. Newer players will always need random Kanto events.
location type spawns (biomes) were originally but they didn't work well especially as more pokemon were added to the game and was ultimately scraped for weather spawning
Were they completely scrapped? In my area darmanitans only spawn at the beach so I thought there was something going on as far as location spawns
@@lancemagmer9701 early in certain locations were supposed to spawn pokemon nest more often. Near water water pokemon, churches and cemeteries would spawn ghost pokemon stuff like that

The reason for revisiting Kanto makes sense because this is a simple generation. By encountering first gen pokemon more often during this event, we will have a better idea of what kinds of pokemon gather in each biome later on.

There is an option on setting to reduce graphic quality

@@Kusumita997yep and the dialga and pallia raids were only available for literally two days. They need to bring both back , some people have lives outside of pokémon go. But niantic doesn’t seem to understand that, the only thing they understand is _MONEY_

Kanto pokemon is the only reason I play this game .
I love biomes right now I absolutely feel and personally very excited for this event and this game 100% natural to me. I grew up with Kanto pokemon so I’m used to them already what am I rediscovering how I still hate Jynx. I think that Niantic did these biomes so well so I have no negative comments about these biomes however for the latest avatar update I still think they should go back to basics and keep the old avatar and start all over again I hate my avatar right now cause of the latest I still look like a ghost. I still don’t trust Niantic at all but they do deserve a win for biomes for the new avatar update and how they did it is to me god awful and an abomination. That is a massive L for them. As long as they are the one still missing in my pokedex i would be ok with that but the common ones are lacking some interest for sure.
The new biomes aren't going to fix the new character models now, is it? Instead of bringing out new content so quickly, why don't you reverse the damage you are doing to your own game and give everyone their old character models back. Stop going to Woke consultants that use DEI ideologies to bring games to ruin. They want to destroy you... plain and simple. They really don't like gaming companies. They especially don't like gamers. Bring back the old character models. Stop this notion that the average gamer wants this nonsensical crap added to games they love. It's not only ethically wrong, it is illegal. There are a lot of people who have spent a lot of money on your game. Now a lot of the stuff they bought don't fit right, and they really don't want their game account being represented by an ugly, disproportionate character model. Get over yourself Niantic. This latest bad move is causing a huge rift between you and loyal players. Many are leaving your game. Many more will leave. Here's the real kicker... Unless you fix this, they won't be back. Not sure if this is an associated member of the Niantic company, so if it is not, then maybe this message is lost. It is not a threat. It is merely my interpretation of what is going on with the Pokemon Go gaming community right now. It needs to either be reverted, or give players the option to revert their own character on an individual basis, back to their old character model style. That is all.
Wtf are this useless updates, i swear they jack up our Avatars, now this stupid background updated while catching Pokemon so fukken useless...my phone laggy now and it's unplayable for me...
