Almost turned it around. This isn't Nagatoro, she'll tease but she won't cause pain. More often she'll push him out of his comfort zone, yet she will not let other people mistreat him. This girl is the definition of giving negative attention to someone they may like. Never ends well.
Negatoro is the definition of “Only I can mess with X person” since she’ll rip Senpai’s confort circle to shreds and make an even larger one for him to grow while laughing about it. But as soon as someone messes with him, she turns ice cold real fast.

I don't think she did anything to the food, she just had wasabi probably on the side to be used as a condiment. (Or there as a prank) He was probably enjoying the food so much that he wasn't paying attention and just lobbed a good amount of it into his mouth on accident.

I remember the first which was also the last time I had a huge amount of wasabi on 1 sushi not knowing how hot it was going to be, like when I tell you the heat shot right up to my brain down to my nose and mouth it was so crazy that I was yelling in tears. Now I know why it was such a little amount in a little packet that stuff is DEADLY.

If the first comic is true that these pair share the same setting as the tomboy GF, i can see this as an intentional foil.
Both buff girls want their male partner to get in shape, but their method differs, therefore the end results would be equally different.
Maybe we would see this pair end badly, to contrast with the tomboy Girlfriend's comparatively healthier relationship.

Okay, I can understand the whole simping for her and be motivated by her bullying to do better at fitness argument. I don't necessarily agree with it or like it, but I can understand it.

I wouldn't say that makes her a terrible person, when making a meal for someone, or in this case a stranger, you can't really anticipate what they might be allergic to because people can be allergic to practically anything. While the wasabi probably was there as a practical joke, it can be used as a condiment or dip if eaten sparingly. Not her fault he ate the whole glob of it.

To be fair she does seem to know him pretty well. I believe this can be considered a prank between friends. (I don't a know about doing this when the other person doesn't seem to consider them a good friend, but yeah)

And since this gives him enough of a reason to hide from the knock off Nagatoro, he goes along and says yes. However, when the girl notices he has troubles understanding the subjects he's reading, he proceeds to help him out throughout the whole day and ironically at the end of the day, he did learn what she taught him.
He then proceeds to visit the library more often than the gym since every time he goes there, "Nah-gatoro" won't stop harassing him. Until he finally quits the gym without her noticing until after 2 weeks. So when she goes to visit him at his place that's when he realizes: he has a new girlfriend that is nothing like her and actually seems happy in the relationship.

Poison? No. It's just spicy, the guy just clearly can't handle hot foods. I don't really think wasabi is even that bad, it's not like she hid a ghost pepper in his food. She's still a sadist jerk, but she's not trying to poison him. She seems to know him well enough to know if he was allergic. If she was actually trying to kill him, I doubt the comic would be this lighthearted.

Not gonna lie, I have a feeling this is going to be PeaCH88's weakest series.
Female Bully/Ex-bully romances are hard to pull off and may not be for everyone.
Not even that. You have to work on progression.
Early Nagatoro web comics were HORRIBLE. It was all bullying and no romance, they were meant to crush you into the ground.
This was reshaped into very specific progression where bullying goes down and romance goes up, with communication actively going. Author carefully manages bullying morph into friendly jabs and even then the FIRST thing to happen is bullying losing any public element.
PeaCH88 either doesn't care or does not understand. His bully makes things public - and that's actively damaging individual in the field you can't fix. His bully shouldn't even work to begin with, simply roasting people does not make a bully. Bullying that lasts is a very complex mind game of chiming in with friendliness or a favor, then stretching the sense of obligation by toxicity, keeping things going by a lick of caressing there and instigating guilt by gaslightning there. And the bully romance is a progression of bully sorting things out within himself/herself, finding good traits in the victim and growing a mix of love, guilt, pity and regret.

@@bradendeems6845 It's somewhat justified in manga since it did not start as a romance. Nagatoro was looking for someone to pick on, but got captivated by MC's dedication to his craft, being stubborn in there despite being otherwise weak all around.
