Avid Pro Tools dock unboxing.
Pick this up at KMR audio in London today.
Thanks to Stefan at KMR audio.
Ignore the kids and dog in the back ground.
Cam battery died so vid was cut short.
Dude ! You out the cable in wrong! Put the iPad in the dock then put the cable through the whole in the back and into the lightning port.It's not poor craftsmanship you just didn't plug the cable in properly.Please look at the overview video of the dock on my account and you will see hoe it is plugged in.
Yep I figured out after that the iPad was turned the wrong way as the iPad power button was hidden.
I still class this avid dock charge lead connection method as a big flaw, Poor craftsmanship on avid design part!
As even when the charge lead is plugged in as it should with out the iPad tilt adaptor, if one forgets to remove the charge lead before pulling the iPad from the dock one could end up breaking the charge lead end or the iPad charge port.
The best solution for this is to acquire an L shape iPad lightening charge lead which will not be hinder by the dock frame as mention by some folks on the avid forum Dock section.
I can only find 3 major faults with the dock
1. Charge lead. Avid should have included an L shape charge lead.
2. No channel "track"skip bottoms on the dock, have to press on iPad to select next track so it can assign next track to the fader.
3. The dock top is made from cheap plastic, The S3 is made from some sort of coated metal which feels more heavy and well built. Dock feels cheap.
Other that its a great innovative product and am very pleased with it.

Bro, i lost the power supply, can you look at the tag of your power supply and tell me if the polarity in yours is center negative or positive? like (-)---( ----(+) or (+)---( ----(-) ?
