The problem for the Yankees isn't that they makes all sorts of small mistakes.
The problem for the Yankees is that management *accepts* that and expects skill to overcome the mistakes.
That's good enough to make the postseason. *Then* those small mistakes are the difference between two good teams.

Dodger fan here. Through your podcast I learned the Yankees were bad at fundamentals. I had no idea. I only looked at their overall record and assumed they were a good team. I was in shock at how sloppy they were in that 5th inning. It was unbelievable. But it was an open door for my Dodgers. As the Mets podcaster learned. If you give The Dodgers an inch they'll take a mile.

Casuals are still defending the lazy play of Cole not covering 1st base. Even in Little League, the first thing they teach you as a pitcher when the ball goes to 1st base, your job is to cover 1st base. Stop being obtuse. That's why NY stinks, no accountability. Even frackin Cole couldn't take ownership. He basically did an Ole play. What a fracking joke.

    • @NatTurnerswitBurnerz
      @NatTurnerswitBurnerz 22 дня назад

It wasn't about laziness. The same play happened in the 1st inning. Betts hit a grounder to Rizzo and Cole covered, but Rizzo took it himself. Imo, he just lost focus with all the extra outs they gave the Dodgers that inning.

@@NatTurnerswitBurnerz agree to disagree. The same scenario would have happened to Treinen in the 8th inning if he didn't cover 1st base. He got out of his jam and didn't give up a run because he covered 1st base. The dude was running on fumes and is 38 years old, yet he managed to do what every little league player is taught to do.

I agree a lot with Tiki is saying I am a diehard Yankee fan born and raised in New York as a Yankee fan people always talk about buying players with the players they always wind up getting his guys who just could put it over the fence whatever happened to bunting stealing a base or two sacrificing a run moving a man over Yankees are not known for that and that’s frustrating because I have to admit the Dodgers were that team who doing that hit a home run here and there I played the sport and now I see it in a different way because I’m in Umpire today Played a hell of a centerfield Cole pitch is hot out but remember pictures and catches reports of spring training before position plays. That’s the one thing that they routinely practices. All the time is cover for base. Why did he stop? Because he thought that Rizzle was going to cover first I hate to say it I bleed Yankee blue I am so freaking pissed off that after the World Series I don’t even wear my Yankee had to work and everybody at my job knows that I am a diehard Yankee fan because I was born and raised there. now, I wear a different hat until spring training

100%. Cole should have covered but Rizzo should make that play on his own. That was the play that cost them this game. The other thing that drives me crazy in this era of baseball is how in the world was Freeman not put on his ass at least one pitch after looking like he’s been playing PlayStation baseball! Yankee management/ownership is full of platitudes that pacify.
Fundamentals fall on coaching and their organization.
Their hitting has been a problem for years. How many players in years past played LF that don’t play LF. See 3rd base this year. 2nd base leads in errors.
They play aging players too long because of a resume.
Best team in baseball to worst team in baseball, back to ok again.
The, “that’s baseball” is a cop-out for accountability of fundamentals. They can hide behind a blanket statement for their ineptitude. They’re politicians.

This team proves time and again that isn’t prepared to win, they expect to win. Boone was coddled as a young manager with 100+ win teams that, for some reason, has given him the freedom to coast with his players.

It’s simple everyone, the Yanks just couldn’t handle the pressure and the bright lights. Now that they have some experience, maybe they’ll do better next time. These guys are just human after all…

Whoever won deserved to win. Mistakes are part of every game.

That makes no sense. If that was the case, there'd be no stats for ERRORS made. Bozo. The Yankees beat themselves in one inning.

No silly, Freeman and Treoscar still had to get hits off Cole to drive in those additional 4 runs.

Judge will be fine....the drop fly ball was bad....but it wasn't in G7 or G6....it was G5 where they were fighting an uphill battle of coming back from 3 0 down....and still no team has ever forced a g6 when down 3 0...for world series

Whenever I hear "Positive Tommy" on the radio it
reminds me of the time he whined and yelled
    on the over night
show that he was doing at that time that his idol
Jacob d'Grom was not re-signed by Cohen.
It was pathetic the way he would do that all night long
    for several shows.
Also, his Yankee hating agenda just makes me hope and
wish that it would be another 38 years before his beloved
Mets win another World Series and even that would be
    way too soon.
