  • Hello Government Canyon State Natural Area, and hello SUMMER! The heat was intense, but the park didn't disappoint. We trekked about 9.5 miles of the nearly 40 miles of trails this park has to offer. We saw loads of wildflowers, dinosaur tracks, and beautiful vistas. If you're looking for a little piece of wild Texas to explore, definitely check out Government Canyon State Natural Area. And don't forget your water and sunscreen!

Together for 10 years and then married in March 2020, we've had some amazing adventures in the past: a month-long journey from England back to the States, 4 weeks in Ireland, 6 weeks in Scotland, and then another 2 weeks in Ireland. We're in the process of documenting all of those trips, day by day, on our blog. After the joy of sharing those trips with friends and family, we've decided to take you along for all of our future trips! Here's to more #travel in the years to come!
    Cheers,

And so many more miles we didn't get to 🤣 I wish we would have done the prairie trails up by the camping area. Those seemed much easier!!

Beautiful wildflower shots! A shame that you couldn't go into the house. I would like to know what the inside is like.

Same! Such a bummer to have it fenced off.

I still haven't been here but I've heard good things. It looks like a great place. It's crazy how there was almost nobody there being basically in San Antonio. Are you guys planning on also going to Hill Country State Natural Area? If so be prepared it's hot with little shade so go early! Bandera is a great little town to see as well

We were also surprised at how empty it was! It's gorgeous out there so we figured it would be packed. We haven't done Hill Country yet, but I think we'll wait for cooler weather 🥵 this heat is brutal! We've driven through Bandera on the way to other parks, but it would be nice to actually stop in. We'll have to make a weekend of it!
