You gotta love the tinkerer "the roof shower was great, but we never used it"!!! I getcha mate🤔 Thanks for doing this video, exactly what I was looking for. I like my ebay bargains and I have just put two of these cheapo panels on my van! Should be interesting!!
I would get my money back. You seen how big the panel is on my trailer. I don't think it would fit on your roof rack. That is a True 300 Watt panel. I have seen it put out 12 amps @ 33v at the panel Over 20amps to the battery through the MPPT controller may do more but i would have to test it.. It would be interesting to see how they reached the output they claim. I just hate people listing things like that.
Yeah mate they all over exaggerate on things they sell. I have a few of these panels I got about a year ago and they were listed as 300 watt I think . But I figured for the price I was happy with the output. I was curious to what they really put out in power. Keep safe mate 👍🍻
The battery was 99-100% charged! For any decent test you need a battery that is well discharged, ideally maybe 50 DoD. Then the dc/dc will run in absorbment mode and you’ll utilise more of the available solar and probably show a higher amp value.
Mate for that price you certainly can’t go wrong. You are definitely set up right now with those two panels. Should keep the Fridge and Road Chef running beautifully
Thanks for the video. Looking to buy the "350w" panel too to mount on the roof of the prado. Looking to charge a small 24ah lithium battery, which will power the fridge. Wondering how many watts they get when there is no sun, or when it's raining ?
Yep i generally half the specs and thats what i get. The ebay stuff is still the best bang for buck!! I found the 'atem power' brand the best of the ebay brands. Thanks i enjoy your videos!
Mate for the money that's amazing. A Kings 160w panel runs $110 and they don't get the full 160w. The fact that you're getting almost 200w is amazing, they really shouldn't be rated so highly since it's not possible being that physical size, but the price is right.
@@EFFICIENTSELF thought I'd check back in mate, do you still use this panel? I'm revisiting my setup and considering a cheap panel, does it still deliver such high power?
I don’t have this panel anymore as I sold my Pajero but I still have 3 of these on the roof of my house which are nearly 3 years old and they are still performing good. Just spend the money on a good quality solar controller as the cheap ones are rubbish. Avoid the cheap flexible solar panels as you seen on the roof basket as they lose performance .
Yeah I’m not complaining . I got a few of these panels that I purchased about a year ago and they are still performing well , if I can remember I paid around 165 each then . Thanks for watching 👍🍻
Going good so far mate . I got another as well video should be up on Saturday but its a 200 watt (around 100w really) they are performing well so far . Just always half the output what they claim . Just for the long term i cant comment yet as i still trying out . No regrets yet mate . Hope is all well jason 👍🍻
There are several problem mate. 1 it is better to measure if the battery is really low. Because any solar controller and solar panel is pull the power. not push the power. so that in some case if the battery already full said 99% or 100% the controller cannot pull so many current as a result. the output of the panel would reduce. 2. Please isolate all connection and just measure the open circuit voltage and short circuit current and compare with the spec. I expected your panel would only output. 12 * 6 * 2.5W per cell = 180W max by design. Please ask for refund in ebay . You should ask for about 50% refund.
Yes I did measure when battery was around 60% . I just did not get it on video. This was the best figure I recorded. Maybe you would get better with a high quality mppt solar controller as this is only a cheap one from eBay as well. I only did this to give an idea on power output on this panel. I have a 200watt renogy solar panel and the best I seen was 194watt ... I figure for the cost of around 70 cents for watt I was impressed with the eBay panel. Thanks for watching 👍🍻

Yeah some ebay sellers are nothing but fucking scum
@@HDXFH Yes Never buy from outbaxcamping. No wonder people say solar does not work. It's a fraudulent listing in my view.

I like tier 1 household panels the best
How did you connect the solar blanket to your battery? Did you thread a cord through to your battery box?
Just plugged it into my dc charger which has a built in mppt solar controller

For just over $135, 180 watts is ok isn't it? That's approximately 80 cents per watt

most ive hit is 128watt on a 350watt panel from ebay
Cheers 🍻 thanks for watching 👍🍻
I just got a 300 watt, does 130-140 not bad ig

Just wondering how this solar panel is doing mate?

I have a so called 350 watt getting 130 watts max
Wow. If you just got it , contact seller and tell them it’s not as described . Lots of the sellers are cheats
I got 8 amps out of my 350 watt solar panel lol not 20 amps...
I could get just shy of 14 amps on this panel on its own.. i only got 20 amps cause i had 2 other panels connected as well . Thanks for watching 👍🍻
