It's an amazing little plane. Got mine last week, and have flown about 20 packs through it. My only real complaint is it does have a lot of rudder coupling, but other than that, it flies beautifully. Like it is on rails. The pushrod threads are 2-56. I upgraded the clevises on all surfaces from the stock plastic to steel. Added the optional wheel pants and a pair of dubro 2 1/4" wheels. It looks a lot better with the wheel pants IMO, and also help with orientation when far away. I can see the white wheel pants above or below the plane from a fair distance quite easily.
what CG is better for new pilots? the instructions say 87mm which is more than halfway through the wing, and sounds very agressive on paper. with a 3s 2.2 that weighs 140g i was barely able to get it to center, and the model really wanted to be nose heavy. second: thank you for responding to every single one of my comments. that "if cleetus can do it, so can you" is why i havent given up yet. flying my US and crashing just showed me how much i dont know yet, and my 500hrs on the simulator did less than i expected. the internet says that the aeroscout is the best 4ch beginner plane out, do you agree? your knowledge and experience is keeping me in the air. best informative RC channel on YT(tail heavy productions is good, but they dont engage with viewers like two brothers does) THANKS JOHN!!! hope to meet you one day.

Can't wait to try mine out! I already put some 4 inch wheels on it for the grass but it probably won't need it! Just waiting for the wind to calm down a little bit!
I knew I liked this plane... Thanks for "splaning" Why I love it so much... You, Me, Adam, Mike C all say the same thing... This plane "responds" to aggressive flyin like a Duck to Water.... Thumbs Up. old_coastie
Great flying and nice to-the-point reviews. Would love to see you testing/reviewing the OMP Hobby Challenger 49", which is also a stick-like PNP balsa plane with aerobatic capabilities and loads of power on a 3S.
I have one of these from many years ago that is sitting in my storage building. I need to fix a hinge or two and put it back in the air. Mine flew with a 2200mah 3s and was an absolute bullet.
Its a great plane. I got one in my hangar. I ditched the jets got one of these and now IM flying gas 50cc extreme flight models. so much potential with aerobatic balsa panes
The sound of the wheels absolutely doesnt matter. THe plane is on the wheels for mere seconds at a time. A bit of noise means nothing and has zero affect on how the plane performs.
@@TwoBrosRC with respect, if a potential customer considers wheel noise as a factor in their decision making about the purchase of a plane I think their priorities are messed up. Lol
Jon quick question, how to I setup the flaperons without cutting the wood in between the flaps and the ailerons? I asked on the discord but no one is responding. Also I have a nx8.
I took the spinner off balanced the prop and then tested it with no spinner it was perfect, added the spinner back shacking started again, balanced the spinner, and bingo no vibration.
We don't fly HH models with SMC batteries because we're showcasing the Smart ecosystem. 2800s will give you another minute or two. They'd work well in this model.
Unlock the receiver by following ruclips.net/video/F3isbv1U8eM/видео.html, write down the AS3X gains, factory reset the receiver, and set it back up again. It will understand the flaperon wing type at that point. Pretty easy once you do it a few times!

It's definitely not a looker. But, it looks pretty good getting wrung out in the air! 👍 Hey, Jon. I just installed floats on my UMX TimberX and am bringing it and my FMS PA-18 1.3 down to the Cary, NC area tomorrow. Ill be looking for lakes and flying fields while there, staying with my inlaws, for a few days. Also, planning on a stop at Hanger18. Maybe we'll cross paths- just started RC flying a couple months ago, so duck/cover if we do 😂 Any cool spots you could suggest would be appreciated. Awesome video, per usual. Thanks 👍
If you're going to float fly, we'd recommend flying off Symphony Lake next to Koka Booth Amphitheatre. That's where a lot of our float flying vids are filmed. Say hi to Bryan at the shop for us!
Optional Wheel pants are available also... BUT the stock wheels don't fit the stock pants... Oooppsss.. Somebody has egg on their face over in HH land... 2 1/4" DuBro Low Bounce for the Win..

Jon I knew you'd put some mixes in it and do some cray cray stuff! Awesome. Great plane, we have fun with ours.
It's stupid fun! We actually split the ailerons up with a second set of servos, too. Might as well, right? Experiment with all the mixes!

A stiff airframe that's well designed lends itself to being thrown around without a care. Happy to help!
@@TwoBrosRC I know you guys.... You are a bunch of RC "Enablers".... LOL
Nice plane, I have made a variation on the stik, Das Kombat Stik, It's a combination of the Combat Wing and Das Ugly Stik. V2 to be built shortly.
I learned to fly with the Midwest sweet stick and a KB 40 glow engine so I'm really anxious to try this one out with electric power!
Nice woody bro

Have you guys done a review on the umx night vapor if not it’s such a amazing plane highly recommend it
It's not really our style unfortunately.
@@TwoBrosRC oh ok I understand
I like to see this up against the Omp bighorn
Good show
I like the model.
Your thoughts on long term durability at the field vs a foam equivalent?
Long term durability should be great - balsa planes are well known for long lifespans while looking relatively new.
The Hanger 9 PT 19 is a great balsa flyer you should try it out.

Did you upgrade the servos like on the Timber X?
Yup.

Have another Questions for another plane. Should I attempt to install rudders on my 40 mm F-14? I desperately want rudders.
It's up to you. If you want them, look up the RC Groups thread and see if someone's already done it and how to do it yourself.

It's still something noteworthy that we felt needed to be mentioned.
@@TwoBrosRC with respect, if a potential customer considers wheel noise as a factor in their decision making about the purchase of a plane I think their priorities are messed up. Lol
You'd be surprised at what people complain about - wheel noise is definitely up there. We hear it all the time and that's why we mentioned it. ;)
@@TwoBrosRC I bet those people are very accomplished pilots in their own right.
It's just that the noise is not a usual sound, and it's at an irritating frequency for humans.
Have you tried it with "crow"?
Nope.

Man after watching this I’m going to bust mine out! Still sitting in the box😅 awesome flying and great review🤙🏽
Mine rattled real bad too until I discovered my prop was way out of balance.
The prop is definitely balanced. It's the wood vibrating it seems!
@@TwoBrosRC Check the spinner also mine was speed wobbling

really want to get one of these but still not stocked by anyone in the uk...

can you do a video or comment how I can get safe on both flapperons? I only get safe on one of them after splitting them on to channels.
