But why train "cool counter moves" against these slow and weak "attacks"? What will you learn or develop by going over these moves again? You just learn to do these tricks against a non-resisting opponent who only simulates an attack.

You learn against slow and weak attacks because you are still LEARNING. That is literally how any and all learning works. You start slow and increase speed as you develop. Ones you have mastered the techniques and they are fully muscle memorized you might be able to utilize at least some of what you have learned in the unfortunate scenario that someone attacks you with a blunt weapon and you are not able to run away from it. A perfect fool proof counter move to a fast and unexpected attack does not exist. That doesn't mean that it is useless to train for such situations.

@@ImppuzVideos I agree, that you start from slow speed. But at the end the attacks need to be fast and realistic too. Are these techniques doable even then?

@@foxesruler The techniques consist of blocks, strikes, takedowns and submissions, none of which are really that fancy. Why wouldn't they work with more speed. If you're asking what happens when someone suddenly tries to stab you really fast, the answer is most likely you're gonna get stabbed.

@@ImppuzVideos if you never practice against live resistance and realistic force and speed, you won’t be prepared in the event that it happens. I was a Kenpo black belt and we trained like this all the time. When I sparred a recreational mma trainee, he whooped me because I never learned how to apply anything against an unwilling partner nor had I been punched in the face/head with full force before.

Sind euere Matten so dreckig oder habt ihr keine Waschmaschine... (1:00) min.
Ich würde mich schämen mit so einem Anzug auf die Matte zu gehen. Als freie Verteidigung ist das Ganze eine super Sache.
