Two tips, 1) When you lobbed him, move forward and get your toes to around service line otherwise if you stand at baseline he can neutralize your lob with his own lob. 2) Better to hit down the line then come to net because when you hit cross court you have to move a greater distance to avoid being passed down the line.

Just one tip. High Balls on his backhand everytime. He will get short or he will be forced to change his game. When he get short play t-line with an angle. Longball he will Lob back. Short with angle he is forced to move and become unstable. Go to T line and react to volly our dropshot.

When you lob him, you should be coming up to the net so you can finish the point with a smash/volley and not allow him to reset it so easily.

  • @scholesiefirsttime

I think with some fine tuning you’ll be creating problems for this type of player more often than not.
Hit the ball fuller and flatter for starters. With chippers (as I call them), the good thing is that with good movement you have lots of time to get in good positions to make decisive shot selections and execute.
By hitting the ball fuller and flatter (vs lots of air and spin) you give your opponent less time and opportunity to get under the ball and play those lobs and chipped returns.
You’re serve toss and technique looks fairly reasonable. Keep working on that, varying the pace and angles. Make your opponent make good returns to get themselves into the rally.
Biggest advice - keep it simple at the net. Give yourself time and only go there to finish the point after a good approach. If he draws you in, make them play another shot - no freebies.
    Good luck!

Pushing is a valid strategy. I have as much difficulty maintaining composure as others against them. It's all mental if you're a solid intermediate player. You have to be consistent and deep, and deny them angles or the ability to take their time with placement. It's hard not to think of them as inferior or like you *should* beat them bc they push everything and you can play a more powerful game. It's easier to lose to someone who beats you with power.

First off, this channel is hilarious, love the commentary..etc. I think you just have to work on chilling out and seeing the big windows you have. example - After that underarm serve around 2:31 you had a pretty easy DTL backhand pass attempt. Anyway, I find that guys like this give you the time to put the ball where they aren't, you just have to take your time and then put it there with authority. You definitely have to punish his serve more too, I know it has spin but it's very attackable and he needs to feel pressure to hit bigger serves so you can get some sweet DFs from him. . You can definitley beat this guy, its just a mental challenge and you have to commit to your strokes for the entire match, which is hard but well worth it. UTR is great, make sure you are enjoying it and play loose! :)

    Love the commentary man!!
Keep it up, all the way through 4.5 we've gotta deal with these junk ballers.
The good thing is though, once we figure out what works best for us against them at our level, you can beat pretty much all of them. You got this!
edit: You gotta work on anticipation. You could've easily gotten to that ball if you reacted right when he brought his racket up right here: ruclips.net/video/7rh5CowTo3E/видео.html
Since these guys don't hit strong winners, once you can anticipate your balls you can pretty much get to all of them. Then they just serve as a ball machine for you as you grind them down.

@@trashbintennis5550 haha I feel that. I JUST started being able to go full pace topspin forehands off of my friend's junk balls (if you look at my channel, it's Greg). Plays a very old man game and hits flat or slice only.
First time we played, split sets. That match I recorded, I won 6-4, 6-1, and now I'm beating him 6-1 , 6-1 because I'm able to keep the ball deep, attack mid court balls, and keep him moving.
Either way, if they get a w they earned it but it's definitely a playstyle to experiment against and learn your strengths for!

    Few of my thoughts:
When you hit a heavy cross court ball with depth it usually generates a short reply. Need to be ready to pounce on this next ball with a big forehand (don’t let it drop), otherwise you will get passed/lobbed.

@@trashbintennis5550 You don't throw everything you got back again at the wall. Play the game that way and the wall will stay stuck in the middle of the court going pretty much nowhere.. For the wall likes to hang around on the back of the baseline. and as long as you hit everything all back deep down the middle or to the corners the pusher only has to step just a few metres across the baseline to intercept the ball.
So the answer is to shorten up your lengths to create more angle and move the pusher out of the middle of the court. .
Oh and it wouldn't hurt to throw in some 100 mph rocketing groundstroke slices every now and again.

A guy that has that kind of touch on the lob, you can't rush into the net that deeply. When you stop a little earlier you make him think twice, about that lob. That forces him to pass you close to the lines more because he doesn't have the kind of power where you can't volley it on the next shot. You had some of these points where you approach, he gives you a decent volley, but you don't do enough with it and you're a sitting duck.

when it comes to junkballers, u generally want to rob ur opponent of their time. As a result u could try to take the ball a bit earlier and step into the court. What comes with this is also an advantage, when it comes to angles. If u stood more in the court, u were able to hit with more angle and force mistakes or make ur opponent move, resulting in them having less concentration and stamina at the end of the match. Just a few quick tweaks u can implement into ur game. Otherwise great job. U are improving every video man :)

@Trash Bin Tennis that's true, it took me about 3 weeks just to be able to rally and took me another 2 months to be able to use it in matchplay. But a year later I'm so happy with my game, no more loopy forehands that barely penetrate the court. And advice from me is, if you do decide to make the switch don't ever go back to the old grip it was soo tempting for me just to switch back and feel good about my hits again, but I didn't. Now everytime I try our old grip, I honestly don't know how I did it, it's so awkward and hard to do.

At 5:09 you talk about Split Stepping. I was frankly appalled by what you said. If you were saying what I think you were saying your statements would show that you lack any understanding of what a split step is or how important it is in the game of tennis. It’s as fundamental to being able to play good tennis as having strings in your racket is.
Couple of vid suggestions from “2 minute tennis” “ Why you need a tennis split step “ and “Correct timing of the split step.” There are many vids on the split step. These are just suggestions watch as many as it takes for you to understand the what ,why and how of a split step. Remember a split step has nothing to do with mindlessly bouncing on your toes during the point. The only players that don’t employ a split step religiously are those that have never executed the whole process of split stepping properly, both mental and physical. It’s such a major tennis movement hack / cheat code that it’s impossible to do it properly and experience it’s advantages and then choose not to employ it on every point. It’s a tennis life changing experience, something you’ll never forget learning. Like the first time you tasted your favorite desert or kissed a girl. You’ll be compelled to relive the experience.
