I've been playing for 24 years, but I still enjoy videos like this because the basics are what matters most. Everybody can use a reminder from time to time.
Like other comments. been playing a total of 25 years. had several operations and 5 years later picking up a cue with a semi healed body...."getting back in shape"... i think it's great to always get back to the basics. Great video.
As a intermediate level player, I think I need this routine for improvement. I will study this and make it my routine. Thanks so much, I love your lessons. As a teacher, you rock!!!!!
I'm really glad your a lefty...it's so hard finding left hand instructors or even players for that matter. It's just nice to see you illustrate shots. Thank you......Lefties RULE!!!!!!
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,excellent point ; I am lefty also,,,,,,,and as a drummer I play and practice with the right hand also.....In pool I practice with right handed shooting,,,,,,,It comes in very handy,,,,when you are in a cramped position.....It also stuns the competitor......
I've watched hundreds of pool videos. This is BY FAR the best at showing and explaining what should go into every shot. If you watch great players, you can see they all do these steps, or most of them, before each shot. Thank you so much!
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Thanks,,,,,,,This is my first video lesson,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,gotta learn the rudiments correctly.......That builds the confidence level......Not having to ask questions during a match.......................
I constantly refer to tutorial videos on U- TUBE playing in a pool league and for open matches an AP5 level. Really like your tone and the thorough instruction you provide so will be sure to look in more and subscribe. It seems common sense but that is part of my game that was missing until recently was visualising the shot, not only position but envisaging the object ball going in mentally. Keep up the good work
Hey, Sharivari. Just wanted to thank you for your videos. I'm between a 5 and 6 in my league and just kind of plateaued in the last few years, not knowing how to get to a solid 6 or even to a 6-7 and take on the top players. Your vids really helped me work on my basics and improve. Particularly, how to better prepare for a shot like in this video. But more importantly, I realized from your go-pro the power of the stun shot and where to visualize the ghost ball!!! These are things I stopped questioning since I was a novice player. No more rattles and I know exactly where my cue ball is going instead of guesstimating. Much appreciated. 🎉
I feel ya I was a consistent 9 during my league times now getting older you seem to lose something and of course me I quit playing for over 20 years I always got matched with 10’s during my league play.
Since everyone is commenting, i will too. My compliment is that the last part where you explained the unimportance in hitting the ball with slight english, you were true to the fact that it’s just (maybe fun to do sometimes?) and that you’re not egotistical with your skills. like yeah man, idk why i did that but it worked. btw, i screenshotted the analysis towards the end with each step by step guide. Good shit brother
I'm a beginner and I just started playing for fun with a group of pros. They say I have potential, now I am glad to have some pointers from this video.
I DEFINITELY KNOW YOU HAVE HELPED ME INCREASE MY GAME, TECHNIQUE, STANCE AND SHOCKING TIPS THAT AMAZE MY OPPONENTS AND ON WATCHER'S, YET I REMAIN HUMBLE, RESERVED... THANKS FOR THE CLASSES.. 🙂
I used to play pool some time ago. After a long absence, I want to pick it up again. I found your channel. This video is clear and to the point. Thanks. I am sure your lessons will help me get better.
I gotta appreciate this. I recently started and was a confident average player. But though I didn't think much of this video because it's just basics, as soon as I applied it, best believe something happened. I'm gonna keep this video always.
Hey Sharivari, I wanted to say, this is the first of your content that I have found. Its hard to find someone who knows how to respect that most people don't know Pool "lingo" aswell as being able to actually teach the game. I've never had anyone really teach me the basic fundamentals and understand exactly what, where, and when to do it. However, you have done an amazing job on presentation and I look forward to learning more. Thank you for doing what you do! Have a wonderful and blessed day.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I never really learned the game properly ; it was always in bars, playin 8 ball.....Drinkin don't help,,,,,,,,but being around bars and tables for many many , many decades ; has many memories..............Now I don't consume alcohol ; and drink Heineken zero [shit tastes like soda pop with no sugar],,,,,I was just watchin a video of some pro people playin a pool game called Snooker.....total trigonometric wizardry.......I just wanna be a great shot at 8 ball........This channel is for me to learn.......thanks.
I've barely played pool but this just made me SO much more interested in it. It's like a bunch of mini puzzles that you have to solve! Super interesting.
That's very accurate. Every situation is a puzzle that you need to solve with the right strategy, and the proper execution. Pool is so much fun, the more you discover and the better you get, the more fun it becomes.
Excellent video for any beginner. I shared it with my student. Thank you!!! Locking in on the shot before I do my pre-strokes is good for me to focus on in future. I do this automatically but I want to incorporate it in my pre-shot routine...
You don't necessarily have to do everything exactly like I do. But what's important, is that you have a routine that you do on every shot. A reliable and repeatable shot preparation and routine is the key to become a more consistent player.
Basically if you have a pool table, you should play every single day until you start to make progress. Years of experience help, but even people with years of experience will start to lose it if they dont play enough. Oh yeah, dont forget a high dollar cue stick can drastically improve your game. Speaking from 20 years of experience. I have a cue tech
@@kanyewestbank9677 Is there certain things/shots you should practice first? Practice, I know will improve my game but what should I practice first? How do I learn the angles, etc so I can line up my next shot?
I do most of these I'm really good but some shots don't go when I feel my aim was money. The speed of my "back stroke" never occurred to me. Tried a few times just now. It already feels crisper. Thank you so much! 🫡🙏
best step by step explanations with aiming, shooting and speed... i would say thus is one of the best video i ever seen so far here on youtube an i learned alot an i recommend this video for all users .... good job bro.... respect !!!!!!
A couple days back my son taught me how to play Pool and I had to check how to not make mistakes. This video is my first and I liked how you explain. Though you are very skilled you explained simply. Thanks a lot. I did subscribe 👍
Oh my what a high level of video production and pool skill! I'm a beginner and would've hit the 8-ball to the left to put it in pocket, seeing that there is another way blows my mind!
5:08 THAT EXPLAINS SO MUCH, THANK YOU. I usually hit the cue ball really hard, and sometimes end up only allowing the cue stick to scratch against the cue ball. However, since I always have my thumb and pointer finger around the stick, I’ve never noticed the cue jumping. Thank you! This explains SO much! I truly appreciate it!
Thank you for this video.I understand the physics in pool very well but I was inconsistent and i wasnt very good at position play and i dont knowed why. Then I wached this video and i realised that I shooting in a totally different way then I need to. This video is changed my mindset totally in a positive way. Thank you very much and sory If I wrote something wrong,my english is not the best
Thank you for this video♥️ Also 7:51 when your going for the 8 ball it reminds of guns and how the pool stick is the pin, the cue ball is bullet cartridge. When the cue ball goes to the side it’s like the shell exiting the gun😂
I watch your videos alot and my game has improved. I've been playing pool for years but I just started playing BCA. And you have helped me allot keep doing what you do Ann's one day you may see me play You! Thank you
