I've been playing for 24 years, but I still enjoy videos like this because the basics are what matters most. Everybody can use a reminder from time to time.
And I’ve been playing for a day

@@user-ry9eo8xn7p 😂
Well I’ve been playing for 6 years, pub specials and in the occasional friends man cave but I still air swing atleast 5 times per game
You have been playing it for 24 years and learning to play and i am playing it from 24 hours and thinking that I am pro
I’m 15 and really trying to get good. Appreciate video :)
I constantly refer to tutorial videos on U- TUBE playing in a pool league and for open matches an AP5 level. Really like your tone and the thorough instruction you provide so will be sure to look in more and subscribe. It seems common sense but that is part of my game that was missing until recently was visualising the shot, not only position but envisaging the object ball going in mentally. Keep up the good work
Like other comments. been playing a total of 25 years. had several operations and 5 years later picking up a cue with a semi healed body...."getting back in shape"... i think it's great to always get back to the basics. Great video.
Hey, Sharivari. Just wanted to thank you for your videos. I'm between a 5 and 6 in my league and just kind of plateaued in the last few years, not knowing how to get to a solid 6 or even to a 6-7 and take on the top players. Your vids really helped me work on my basics and improve. Particularly, how to better prepare for a shot like in this video. But more importantly, I realized from your go-pro the power of the stun shot and where to visualize the ghost ball!!! These are things I stopped questioning since I was a novice player. No more rattles and I know exactly where my cue ball is going instead of guesstimating. Much appreciated. 🎉
where are you now
I feel ya I was a consistent 9 during my league times now getting older you seem to lose something and of course me I quit playing for over 20 years I always got matched with 10’s during my league play.
Excellent teaching AGAIN and clear explanation step by step Extremely helpful, THANK YOU !
I'm really glad your a lefty...it's so hard finding left hand instructors or even players for that matter. It's just nice to see you illustrate shots. Thank you......Lefties RULE!!!!!!
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,excellent point ; I am lefty also,,,,,,,and as a drummer I play and practice with the right hand also.....In pool I practice with right handed shooting,,,,,,,It comes in very handy,,,,when you are in a cramped position.....It also stuns the competitor......
Excellent video for any beginner. I shared it with my student. Thank you!!!
Locking in on the shot before I do my pre-strokes is good for me to focus on in future. I do this automatically but I want to incorporate it in my pre-shot routine...
I've watched hundreds of pool videos. This is BY FAR the best at showing and explaining what should go into every shot. If you watch great players, you can see they all do these steps, or most of them, before each shot. Thank you so much!
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Thanks,,,,,,,This is my first video lesson,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,gotta learn the rudiments correctly.......That builds the confidence level......Not having to ask questions during a match.......................
As a intermediate level player, I think I need this routine for improvement. I will study this and make it my routine. Thanks so much, I love your lessons. As a teacher, you rock!!!!!
Thanks man!
I'm a beginner and I just started playing for fun with a group of pros. They say I have potential, now I am glad to have some pointers from this video.
I gotta appreciate this. I recently started and was a confident average player. But though I didn't think much of this video because it's just basics, as soon as I applied it, best believe something happened. I'm gonna keep this video always.
I DEFINITELY KNOW YOU HAVE HELPED ME INCREASE MY GAME, TECHNIQUE, STANCE AND SHOCKING TIPS THAT AMAZE MY OPPONENTS AND ON WATCHER'S, YET I REMAIN HUMBLE, RESERVED... THANKS FOR THE CLASSES.. 🙂
Since everyone is commenting, i will too. My compliment is that the last part where you explained the unimportance in hitting the ball with slight english, you were true to the fact that it’s just (maybe fun to do sometimes?) and that you’re not egotistical with your skills. like yeah man, idk why i did that but it worked. btw, i screenshotted the analysis towards the end with each step by step guide. Good shit brother
You're saying 'video' almost perfectly now!! Your hard work is paying off. Your English is fantastic!
Another great lesson/video! Thanks, as always.
Haha, thanks: My biggest struggle as a RUclipsr: "Video, Visualisation, Throw".
@@Sharivari 👍👍👍 just remember that 'fit-eo' trick. Oh, for the 'th' sound...lightly bite the tip of your tongue and blow air and force out 'row'
@@Sharivari lol I hear how you say visualization in my head every time I am down on the shot, actually helps me remember to do it.
Also saying "cue ball" now, instead of "key ball", like in the first videos
I must say that my overall gameplay has improved a lot since watching your videos. Thanks a lot man.
I agree with you, having a routine is important. Thanks for sharing.
I used to play pool some time ago. After a long absence, I want to pick it up again. I found your channel. This video is clear and to the point. Thanks.
I am sure your lessons will help me get better.
Clear steps, and I like the three distinct phases. Thanks for all the great content!
A couple days back my son taught me how to play Pool and I had to check how to not make mistakes. This video is my first and I liked how you explain. Though you are very skilled you explained simply. Thanks a lot. I did subscribe 👍
I don't play pool but I love the physics involved in pool it's mesmerizing to watch and the way you break apart the table is cool too watch
ive started to play pool and by watching you and listening to you give us tips, it really helps me
Amateur here. This video is very helpful. Im stressing alot on how to place for the next shot. Liked the video and subscribed. Thank you
In mid 40’s and barely now developing my pool skill Thanks great Video
10/10 loved this thank you so much! You’re so helpful! Take in the positive comments as much. As the negative. You’re inspiring!
Your so beautiful, you already have my last name you just need my snap now 💍😇
@@TopAce691 bro. who you smokin with?
Great video and explanation!! Locking in on the shot has helped me with less misses and better cue ball control.
It's amazing the difference it made to my potting just adding that pause to my stroke.
I watch your videos alot and my game has improved. I've been playing pool for years but I just started playing BCA. And you have helped me allot keep doing what you do Ann's one day you may see me play You! Thank you
Oh my what a high level of video production and pool skill! I'm a beginner and would've hit the 8-ball to the left to put it in pocket, seeing that there is another way blows my mind!
best step by step explanations with aiming, shooting and speed... i would say thus is one of the best video i ever seen so far here on youtube an i learned alot an i recommend this video for all users .... good job bro.... respect !!!!!!
Thanks Sharivari. Please keep them coming. As a low level player learning ball position, I find this type of instruction very helpful. Thanks.
I will :)
O me .? Me😅 I'm 😅m
😊
I've subscribed a few weeks ago. Your videos have a calming effect. Thank you
When ever I play pool I don’t play for months so when I return it’s like starting all over again not knowing how to even hit the ball
An excellent & very helpful video that really helps players of varied abilities.Thank you.
I’ve been watching your videos for a couple of years now, your content and video production keeps getting better, this one might be my favorite!
Thank you for this video.I understand the physics in pool very well but I was inconsistent and i wasnt very good at position play and i dont knowed why. Then I wached this video and i realised that I shooting in a totally different way then I need to. This video is changed my mindset totally in a positive way. Thank you very much and sory If I wrote something wrong,my english is not the best
You don't necessarily have to do everything exactly like I do. But what's important, is that you have a routine that you do on every shot. A reliable and repeatable shot preparation and routine is the key to become a more consistent player.
What brand-weight of pool cue do you use?
Sharivari, What pool cue do you use? Can u recommend a very good cue for me irrespective of the cost. Thanks
Basically if you have a pool table, you should play every single day until you start to make progress. Years of experience help, but even people with years of experience will start to lose it if they dont play enough. Oh yeah, dont forget a high dollar cue stick can drastically improve your game. Speaking from 20 years of experience. I have a cue tech
@@kanyewestbank9677 Is there certain things/shots you should practice first? Practice, I know will improve my game but what should I practice first? How do I learn the angles, etc so I can line up my next shot?
Thank you for this video♥️
Also 7:51 when your going for the 8 ball it reminds of guns and how the pool stick is the pin, the cue ball is bullet cartridge. When the cue ball goes to the side it’s like the shell exiting the gun😂
Hiii sir I'm a beginner. and learning about this pool game for the first time ❤
Hey Sharivari, I wanted to say, this is the first of your content that I have found. Its hard to find someone who knows how to respect that most people don't know Pool "lingo" aswell as being able to actually teach the game. I've never had anyone really teach me the basic fundamentals and understand exactly what, where, and when to do it. However, you have done an amazing job on presentation and I look forward to learning more. Thank you for doing what you do! Have a wonderful and blessed day.
Hey Nathaniel. I am glad that this videos was helpful!
Same case here
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I never really learned the game properly ; it was always in bars, playin 8 ball.....Drinkin don't help,,,,,,,,but being around bars and tables for many many , many decades ; has many memories..............Now I don't consume alcohol ; and drink Heineken zero [shit tastes like soda pop with no sugar],,,,,I was just watchin a video of some pro people playin a pool game called Snooker.....total trigonometric wizardry.......I just wanna be a great shot at 8 ball........This channel is for me to learn.......thanks.
Fantastic content as always. Thanks Sharivari!
These videos are invaluable! You and Dr. Dave are the best pool training channels on RUclips.
So after I asked that question I found one of your videos on Aiming with spin .. and you definitely ahow English and Draw alot!😊 Love your teaching style!
Happy to hear that!
I love the way you explain each and everything keep it up
I just joined my FIRST pool League. I have always only played for fun and am nopro by any means. I need tips or suggestions on videos that will show me HOW to know what kond of English I need to put on the cue ball. I know a little bit but would like to learn more. I really enjoyed your calm teaching approach on this video too!! 😊
Very good and simple vid, ideal for beginners like me! Thank you!
I really enjoy your demonstrations thank you I'm learning a lot from you keep up the good work just plain very good
Excellent lesson! I'm understood all that you explained!
Hi ! im a philipino kid, Im so proud of you my idol, plsss creat another video for new subject, thank you so much😉
-John reinz🔥🎱
Thank you :)
Japan has a very small lefty population. My apartment has a pool table, and I live in the USA.
Thanks for providing step-by-step beginner videos, I'm delighted to find your channel.
This game is so much concentration if your nervous you’ll easily miss I love this game tho take so much technique like anything but something about pool love it
I like seeing the pre shot routine explained and the point of contact on the cue ball, for me an average shooter that has hard time controlling the cue ball. Very informative
Before step 3, I would really go and look at the 7 and then determine the correct spot to land on the 7 to get to the 8. Angles look different when you look at them sideways, always better to look at the next ball if you have to play precise position.
thanks mate best tips out there, i'm trying to become a pro and everything you say makes a lot of sense!
I am playing as an amateur at the moment and these tips have helped me a lot on my shot making and where I leave the que ball but I need help with breaking out of defensive positions that I am commonly left with on the table, is there any advice you may have?
Love the slow, step by step instruction
I like de view with the GoPro! Thanks
Very well presented video thanks for your tips and advice very well explained 🙏
Another very good demonstration again Sir Sharivari! I learmed a lot and it realy helps a lot! GOD Bless you always! ♡♡♡
Thank you! You too :)
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 ty!! looking forward to watching your other videos
Thnx for that cut induced throw spin tip.
1. Check The Angle of the Object Ball 0:56 |
2. Check for the next two Balls 1:14 |
3. Pick a Point on the Table 1:34 |
4. Find the best path to get there 1:43 |
5. Figure out where to hit the cue ball 1:58 |
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I already wrote the steps and procedure in my journal........read, study , never forget......................review..............
You do things simple man.....thanks alt man.
As always, your content is always very imformative and you are able to deliver the content precisely. Continue to aspire and motivate!
If you could cut into GoPro footage earlier so we can see how do you step into the shot would be great
I would love to, but the GoPro doesn't show the table when standing, so you won't see anything.
In this video I did. What do you think?

@@Asksakx wow
The most useful lesson I have seen. Thanks.
Excellent video. I can’t wait to try it out.
I'm a professional player but I still watch videos like these just for a reminder
im still learning and this really helped :) thank you!
Thank you , I like when you show where you are hitting the cue ball for certain shots and explain why you are hitting there and the results of it.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Most of the whole exercise is hitting the cue ball where it needs to go for the next shot ; like in chess ; a body has to envision the whole table of balls ; and hopefully drop them in a controlled sequence........Where to strike on the Q-ball is paramount knowledge.......Look how the instructors cueball has dots around it's perimeter ; in many different hights off from center ; lots of geometry and trig lessons to be learned on that marked out cueball......Too Cool....
Excellent video! Thanks for answering my question!
I’m just getting into pool. I not very good, I have spurts. So this is helpful to actually start to learn actual techniques.
Thank you very much this was the last shot of the game and I was hitting the eight ball I am here and I made it and I hit it and won
wait give me a second imma check youtube and then ill call a pocket😂
