  • As thunderstorms rolled in, the conditions for sunset were truly incredible. As the light changed from warm golden hour light to cool blue-hour light, we capture 3 different images. A truly unforgettable experience for me, and one I can't wait to share with you all.

Thank you, James. I’d say it’s as much chaos as enthusiasm, but glad you enjoyed it haha!

Any body that does serious landscape photography knows this is what it is all about. It doesn’t get any better.

Love the cigar and beer idea. I've spent many nights doing the same while waiting for images to come to life. Nice vid!

Thank you! It’s a sound strategy. This way, if the image sucks you still have a beer and cigar. That’s a win in my book haha. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Dude, this is freaking awesome! You gotta be in it to win and brother you were neck deep. Oh yeah, the cigar and beer, exactly how I like to spend my nights with the canera shooting milky way images. I think I'm gonna subscribe.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. I need to get out and try some more Milky Way photography. I haven’t had much success in the past. Maybe it’s because I forgot the beer and cigar! That’s brilliant!

Don't know about you but I'm getting tired of all this rain here but we can't change it so make the best of it. Yes, the weeds in my yard here in Greeley are enjoying it :)

Hahaha I think I’m the only one NOT sick of it. I love this weather.

Pawnee is such a great place. Have camped a few times on my way through out west and it made for a good mid point. Have shot sunrise but never had the pleasure to explore more. I think those were mammatus clouds which typically precede wild and stormy weather. The black and white conversion is an interesting choice and like you said one that in such a colorful scene may not be easy to see or make that connection but totally was the right choice. Some amazing conditions. Well done on capturing it all and better yet, doing them justice!

Thanks so much, Thomas! It’s definitely a great place to camp and one I don’t visit often enough. I appreciate you watching!

Dude…. I was just thinking this week about Pawnee and making a trip there! I didn’t have the time to make a trip but I am SO glad you did and had the opportunity with these conditions! Man that sky, makes me want to go when the next storms blow in. Good call not packing up before sunset. I’ve gotten burned so many times leaving just to see the color erupt once I’m back in my car haha. You got some special images on this trip. Seriously some of your best.

Haha thanks man. Hard to screw up those conditions! Hope you’ve had the chance to get out lately.

I am damn jealous of those panos! I like the second pano best...I understand your feelings about the warm buttes sort of melding into the clouds, but for me their texture (and the clouds) was what made me like it better than the first or the third pano.

Thank you! That’s why I keep going back and forth on which I prefer haha. The clouds are truly incredible. I think I just did a poor job in post. I usually sit on an image for a couple of weeks before I share it but I wanted to share this video so I got it out faster than usual.
