Love this place!! It would make a great rescue/ rehabilitation, training place! Not only for equine, but for people also! So many possibilities with it's location!
The place was build by MC Webb, a local bridge builder, and they trained Standardbred horses for harness racing which you could see up at the Red Mile in Lexington on the weekends. The round house was housing for the head trainer, the upstairs apartment was MCs own little space when he wanted to stay at the farm or after a night of drinking. If you look at the pics in the bar top, you will find MC. He did the bar top himself. At the time he owned many of the houses down the road next the farm as well. He was different in a good way. You would have never known he had any real money and was just a good old southern boy. Many great memoires at that barn in my younger years.
My family sells pipe , valves, fittings and steel. When we added more office space a few years ago, it was close to the Railroad tracks. Vibration would have destroyed normal ways of building, so, like this barn, our office is concrete, steel, quite a few I beams… 24 years later, it’s as good as when it was first built! Even the 2nd floor is concrete… I love this Kentucky home!
Excentric place, that is for sure. And it will outlast our great-great-grandchildren. 🙂 I love these extraordinary places. You never told us why they build the round barns, @Brad Simmons .
That place would be great if someone wanted to start a business that provided riding classes, hosts equine party events, stall rentals, and/or stable services for people in the area (like the people in those upscale lake homes nearby or in Lexington...if it were me; I'd keep a few horses myself, rent the rest of the stalls...possibly even convert a couple of the "corner" rooms into little studio-style quarters for equine trainers, caretakers, or overnight B&B guests to stay in!
They don’t have hurricanes in Kentucky, but they might get the winds just as Indiana does, tornadoes you have to worry about, this is a beautiful place, I’d love to have it
Some people build homes just to have a roof over their head. Some guys build homes that cover their head and provide for defense. I'd wager this was built for defense against everything.
I love this, I have a child that lives in Paris, would love for me to move up there , I see this has a lot of potential, they love horses and have a few, but I like this and I'm in Shreveport Louisiana, we have a race track here called Louisiana Downs, I would love to see this and ask questions.
It definitely has great bones. If one gutted it the possibilities are endless 😜. There's one thing about it the place would withstand nearly anything. You said it best it's built like a tank.

Wow, a horse barn with an apartment and bar above it. I love it. All those small rooms are for storage of stock for the bar and restaurant I bet. Just guessing but ya gotta put those kegs and cans some where right?
I've been a subscriber for a little while now I live in Spain and I'm originally from Florida that's an amazing piece of property living just above where your horses are that's a dream come true in Switzerland most of the barn houses are like that I live there for 7 years my wife is from Switzerland and I'm a lost soul from Cuba but your channel is amazing I love how you explain everything and how you show the property around I don't have 400,000 but man one Dream Home that's a business of itself I can see that full of horses I'll keep that bar the same way That 70's look if those walls can talk thank you so much God bless you as well as your family and friends these videos are awesome watching all the way from Spain peace out you got to carry a small towel so you can wipe yourself down when you're all sweaty😁👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
Love that barn. That’s pretty cool looking. Loool the living area uhhhhh looool kind of weird. It could look pretty awesome though if the right person/people go in and work on it. Thank you for showing us:)
I’m a builder/ property investor in fl and I just want to tell you that your are the bomb, fantastic content and you always steel the show, well done, if I ever need anything in your neck of the woods I’ll look you up and buy the beer, thx for sharing
We are 2 carpenters living together and feel like this could be an AWESOME investment... We love eating fish every day if possible, is there a small lake or a creek ? This place has every thing we are looking for ...
Don't k now what the tourist, pass thru, and local traffic is like, but I see that as a farmer's market / flea market with each vendor having his or her own stall in which to do business. Would need lots of lighting and cosmetics, but with 24 decent size stalls, it might work.
I would love to have a house on top of a mountain, a big mountain and design my house on one big elevator shaft, when ever I wanted it to go under ground, all I would have to do was hit one of three levels, first level would be fifteen feet down, hide/write/paint, My leave me alone level "second level," 30 ft down for a storm shelter and the third level, 60ft deep for my Prepper Shelter. Each level would have it's own water, sewer and electric that would automatically hook up. One huge Generator & Mechanical Room, and have a boiling spring in the center of the mountain at the bottom and of course natural springs with ice cold water too, so find me that home. I would like twenty five acres and every inch fenced with twelve foot of wrought iron fence. I have an animal rescue, so a sinking barn would be a must as well with connecting doors so I can always let them know that I love them all the time, no matter, cows, peacocks, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks and a few horses.
If I was younger, I'd probably seriously consider this place, bring it back as a place to train horses, or raise livestock. It needs a LOT of care, upgrades and maintenance, but if the concrete was done right, it would cost several million dollars to do that today. After the building collapse in Florida, I'm sure that's going to deter many people. They didn't used to think much about rebar and such being sealed to stop rust. This reminds me of some of the urbex videos of abandoned properties.
Given that area, I would think this property could be made into a nice riding club. Add some more small houses for lodging and turn the attached home into the clubhouse. That hay loft would be a nice indoor special event area. Just build a hay barn nearby. Take that Pex idea further, and ring the training track with misters for use in keeping the dust down when training indoors. If any of you uses this idea I better get a honorary lifetime membership. lol

Love the place sent my info in hope they call. If I get the place will work on fixing it up and will definitely get you guys invited to the BBQ party!!! 😊👍
Those smaller rooms in barn more than likely were grooms quarters I lived in ones like that when I was a groom for 6 years bouncing from Churchill downs and Oaklawn park grooms never get a day off...horses need daily constant watch and attention grooms keep the legs healthy and horses happy really it can be harsh sport on the horse look up pin fireing yep and standing in ice water hours b4 race so they don’t feel pain.. then the sweating of ankles and shins days after race...I learned a lot in those 6 years worked hard on my horses so none ever came off track hurt
Don't know much about barns but that definitely looks like a rolls, Royce barn to me....it is massive and built like a tank I think it's GRT love it very interesting...that cute mini house but for a modern property I loved this one so many possibilities with that barn someone is going to get a GRT property....

I don't think id make many changes in the living quarters. Wiith all that beautiful cedar wood in there, you'd never be able to duplicate it without spending a fortune. I dont like the murphy beds, but something like that could be changed easily . You could make quite a business out of it between boarding , training, etc, your pretty much set. And one thing for sure, it'd probably take an F10 tornado to destroy it. Dont know about earthquakes.
I love this property, but wow the upgrades that's needed. Is the spiral staircase the only access to the home? Love the concept if you love your horses.

My bother in law worked at a horse farm the guy was a bridge builder everything he constructed was solid
My guess on the concrete is it’s tornado resistant. Just a guess.
Good guess
Thats a valid point, I didn't even think of that
The finest and most beautiful houses inside large and excellent trees, thank you very much
Some of those cute rooms might have been for Tack, Grain and equine vet supplies.

I like this place because its in a beautiful part of the country.
Rumor has it that if you are quiet you can still hear Brad whispering "it has good bones" in the wind
Lol
I love it! Wish you had toured the tiny house. Nice tour, thanks!
Hey Brad, you need to talk about the hurricaine g force this building can handle.
Some people build homes just to have a roof over their head. Some guys build homes that cover their head and provide for defense. I'd wager this was built for defense against everything.
That’s not all bad you gotta get ready for anything these day lol
Probably holds up well in fires and High winds

All possibilities an amazing car shop for collector make a massive house anything
Great time to sell this! People wanting this stuff! Love love it!
Front door is '50's to early '60's at the newest. Wagon wheel light same. Unless they reused old fixtures this seems older than '70's. So interesting
This dude is HILARIOUS! 😂 me and my 10 yr old daughter are laughing our asses off
I had to watch this again. Pretty sure it’s been sold, but I still love it!
what kind of wood is that on the second floor? it would make good hardwood flooring
