It almost changes the whole tone to one of dark depression instead of vengeance between this and the original. I definitely get the lonely vibe and more pain from this version. I have no idea what the story is about it, but that's what I got out of it. This version is kind of feathery, light in the voice, but still weighty in the words. It's a neat juxtaposition. And the light piano instead of the more driving music just adds to the more surreal quality. This has been great. I love these.

Here’s a thought: if you constantly tell someone that they are a monster until they start to believe it, then they will accept anything monstrous that they do as proof that they are who you said they are and justify continuing to do monstrous things as ‘just being themselves’ as they sink deeper and deeper into rage, hopelessness, and bitter despair. Instead, what if you constantly told them that they were on their way to becoming a hero? What would they do and feel if they did something heroic? …or unheroic? What if you convinced them to never overestimate who they were, yet also never underestimate who they could be, for good or ill? What do you think might happen then? Who might they be able to become when your words keep directing their eyes to the noblest of goals while warning them of the darkness waiting to pull them in if they stray from the path? …and what if the person you are talking to is yourself?
