I just received my Frost full lume dial version. Absolutely stunning! The fit and finish is incredible, wears wonderfully well on my 7.5” wrist, and that lumed dial…. Words can’t express how cool it is!
Update: I've had it for a couple months now. It's my first Zelos. It's so great for the money. Sharp color. Great size. Fantastic bracelet. Love this watch. I usually dont buy multiple watches in the same brand, but I'm very tempted to buy another Zelos. We'll see
I agree on all 5 points. I have the original teal version of this watch. Some of the features I particularly appreciated eventually led me to buying my Omega smp. It won't be the last Zelos I purchase.
Outside of the movement, if this watch were a name brand watch the retail would go for a MUCH higher price. The quality you get from Zelos is unbelievable
I went for the burnt orange of this. The colours they have for this watch are stunning! You definitely get bang for your buck with micro brands. I think these awesome micro brands we are seeing have given the mainstream brands a kick up the arse! There showing you can get a lot for your money these days!
@@nedflanders3769 it’s look great doesn’t it. There is another great reviewer on YT he had it in bad and on wrist. Be worth checking his review out - Peter Kosta!
I agree. Zelos is the top microbrand out there. No one does more at the price they charge. Kudos to Zelos for showing how you can get a close to luxury finish and exclusivity at such a low price point.
The clasp is also just one that Zelos offers. There’s also a ratcheting system with lift release that’s on my Midnight Blue Mako V3 and another yet on the Spearfish which uses a ratcheting system with pull release. It’s really amazing how much Zelos experiments with different materials and design elements. Honestly I think it’s second to none in the entire micro brand world and it’s not even a close race.
This will be my first Zelos. Been looking at their releases in the past few years and it's quite impressive. Managed to snap up the Aventurine. Wild experiance.
Zelos does a bang-up job with their aventurine dials, I have the aventurine Comet and Spearfish GMT. Went with the frost full lume this time👌 Enjoy that beautiful aventurine Blacktip!!
I sold most of my Zelos watches except for the no date models. I was happy with the resale value, demand is strong. Waiting for the next no date release!
Although I have 3 blue divers and 8inch wrist , I just couldn't resist on this MOP dial and pull the trigger on this one. Enjoying watching your videos👍
Great review and video! Just got that mop on a bronze swordfish. Really spectacular dial. Best micro brand? Maybe most consistent winners, innovation at a reasonable price. Think i have others that may be nicer. Direzno for example. Much more money. There are some Aussie brands that are fantastic. Only made a few models. All said, i have 9 different zelos. A couple with real nice swiss handwound movements. The burnt orange spearfish with the swiss movement. Spectacular! It must make me a fan.❤
I have a CW atoll 600 and zelos swordfish. Absolutely love both of them! CW is a cut above the zelos and wears much better but at over double the price of zelos that's what I'd expect. Previously owned a Tag aquaracer and I prefer both the CW and zelos to that watch.
Great video Bruce! Loved the close up macro shots of that dial and the lume shots at the end were very fun! Hope you are having a wonderful end to the year and look forward to hopefully connecting and getting you hands on with one of our watches in 2024! All the best, Ben
You are too be commended for calling out micro brands who don't ship right away. Zelos ships within a 2-3, usually. That is acceptable. 4-6 months is not. There is a kick starter platform for that. Great review of the Zelos!!
Was on the fence about getting this one and unfortunately bought a king turtle last week and had some additional unexpected expenses come up. Sitting this round out but drooling over the mop
Good video with valid points! As a microbrand, this is my 1st shot at buying a microbrand. Zelos is very clever at making unusual watches in various materials with various looks and limiting the number of watches made. Are their watches worth waiting for? I'm going to find out!
Like the watch colors, but I would like to see watch dial with numbers. 200 meter water resistant is nice, but I already have plenty of dive watches. Thanks for the feedback.
Better than Seikos, at comparable prices, in basically everything. This model in particular gives even Tag Heuers, like the Aquaracers, a run for their money.
I haven't owned one yet, but it seems like Zelos is the "new" Helios or Helson. I have a Helson sharkdiver, and I love it. That said, it seems like Helson is stuck in 2010. Still charging $600 for a watch lacking in execution of quality for the price...
Except Zelos rarely has watches ready to ship. I've had to wait for new launches in order to snag one. If you aren't able to grab one shortly after a model is launched, you won't get one.
I used to consider them Micro years ago. I think they have crossed over into a mainstream brand. I have a 3 videos on various CW watches and topics coming out over the next couple weeks
I appreciate that. Shoot, if I had a scale I would measure it for you. I'll have to add it to my shopping list. Sorry I don't have the weight in grams. But it feels very light
Bruce i am not the type of person to type comments! But I need to get this of my chest. I attempted to purchase the aventurine black tip on launch. I was on time not a second late.. put aventurine model in cart and it told me available! Then put me in digital wait line for about 30 seconds or so put in pay info asap then told me sold out! I feel zelos is doing customers dirty this is not the first time this has happened. I am not bitter in general but this has left a bad taste in my mouth with this company. I just feel with the Aventurine model specifically I see watch dealers on crono and other site have them for resale with no problem.
The same happened to me. I had the aventurine in my cart at launch and was then in a queue which was estimated to last no more than 30 secs. The queue lasted an hour though (I could see on another device that it had sold out in the meantime) and was finally told there was an inventory issue. I'm not sure what else I could have done and it's extremely frustrating.
You kind of skimmed through the 2nd point, aren't Zelos famous for selling out quick and only making a model for a small period of time? Not good for availability
That's their business model. Make a very limited number of watches creating a fear of missing out so everyone rushes to buy the watch the second it is released! Really a brilliant business model when you think about it.
@@sinjinadams2862 There's quite a lot of people doing that business model, my point is that it doesn't pass the 2nd point Bruce is making. You might want a watch and by the time you get a chance to buy it, it's sold out, then you might have to settle for a colour you don't want.
Gee-Golly, I'm going in the opposite direction. Both name and design for Zelos are deal breakers. It's hard to take them seriously. There is nothing mature in terms of design. It's all a bit too loud and childish.
That watch is freaking gorgeous 😍😍😍
I would add customer care/service, which Zelos also excellent IMO. Good video Bruce, thank you.

Nicely done

Titanium Blacktip 200.
Found one in my mom's drawer once.
Wow, that is so striking

This a very good price and quality watch. Well done Zeros.

Zelos traska and nodus are the top 3 microbrands imo
I own a Nodus and agree 100 percent. Traska and zelos look nice but have not experienced any of those yet.
Completely agree! Love farer and Yema too.
And Formex, Helios, and Baltic are up there too
Have all three, and totally agree!
I think Phoibos has to be there too as they are very similar to zelos, minus the strap.
$550 and the bracelet clasp (even if shamelessly stolen from Omega) is light years ahead of Grand Seiko.
Nice. I think a grey Artem strap would look great on this piece.
Gorgeous!!
Amazingly, 24 hours after release the only color sold out is the aventurine.
More stock this go-a-round 👍
Looks definitely higher quality than seiko, the bracelet looks miles better
Better than Seikos, at comparable prices, in basically everything. This model in particular gives even Tag Heuers, like the Aquaracers, a run for their money.
Nodus is another microbrand i find intriguing
I own a Nodus and am considering a second one - nice watches for the money.
I haven't owned one yet, but it seems like Zelos is the "new" Helios or Helson. I have a Helson sharkdiver, and I love it. That said, it seems like Helson is stuck in 2010. Still charging $600 for a watch lacking in execution of quality for the price...
Im wearing the swordfish field
Except Zelos rarely has watches ready to ship. I've had to wait for new launches in order to snag one. If you aren't able to grab one shortly after a model is launched, you won't get one.
That's a good point, they usually sell out pretty quickly
Exactly! And that's the problem with Zelos! They make a very limited number of watches that usually sell out immediately and then their gone!
Not sure if Christopher Ward can be considered a micro brand but if they can then imo they are THE best with unmatched quality and case design.
I used to consider them Micro years ago. I think they have crossed over into a mainstream brand. I have a 3 videos on various CW watches and topics coming out over the next couple weeks
Yip, you're probably right. Look forward to your videos.
Could that be said for Zelos? When does a micro brand become a mainstream brand?
None the trident 300 diver and can say Christopher ward is top quality - however, I think they are no longer a micro brand.
$549!!!! oh hell yes! Wow! just dang
The clasp...is it titanium or SS?
I would probably get this when it comes to Europe via a European authorized dealer.this or the burnt orange.
All thir watches are titanium ? it doesnt specify the steel type of any of the watches on the site
Subscribed, liked and compliments for the great review, do you mind sharing the weight of the watch please?😄

A lot of watch for $500-550
I'd go with Norqain as the top microbrand.
norqain is like 2k range, i wouldnt consider bang for buck, it's almost longines territory, cant really be top microbrand when they are overpriced
Love Norqain, but I think they are more of an independent mainstream brand having physical traditional boutique locations
Yeah i mean anytime someone tells me they want 1 watch for a few hundred bucks i send them zelos way
day 1: what do you do for a living Bruce ?
2 jobs. Architectural renderer, RUclipsr
Is it just me or does that crown look really big?
Kurono tokyo is also premium microbrand
Zelos is the Grand Seiko of Microbrands. Period.
the bezel on their spearfish is useless
It's pronounced "Zel-os" not Zeel-os". 🎯
I think the top best one is Venezianico-Italy
