    Lol, I knew it before you showed it. Yes! The "wave" is longer on the mod2, definitely all duration. It would feed less air/fuel over the combustion process leading to a slower build in torque while allowing the motor to reach its optimal horsepower over a longer run. When it reaches enough rpm the longer duration continues the feed/flow more than the ramping on the stock cam. The ramping forces the fuel/air, builds rpm quicker but can't continue the feed since the valves are opening and shutting to fast to do anything constructive. Good stuff boys, these are really great videos.

    Sounds right. Anytime you change your RPM torque/power range, you'll probably need lower gears to equal out the 0-30 mph. Maybe put that little bigger sprocket on the back. I think you said it's a 52 tooth and you have a 40 now? . I'd like to see the stage 2 cam with a little lower gears. Anyway it's just a suggestion. Really enjoying your videos. Are you doing multiple runs per cam and getting and average top speed? or are you just going off of solitary run. Also, what MPH app do you use? Most of the ones I try have an average of 1-2 MPH variable making exact top speed hard to calculate. I figured an average per cam would give a more of an accurate comparison

    • @Black66
      @Black66  2 года назад +1

      I actually use three different apps or devices. I use the GPS on the camera . I also use an app on my phone called digHUD and then finally I use the Dragy performance meter on each run. They say the Dragy device is within a couple hundredths of a second of an actual drag strip timing system . Sometimes I do have to average the three together when they are off from each other. A lot of the time I will do multiple runs but don't put it in the video. I figure it might get boring and drawn out.

    Is the Mod2 a "cheater cam" for kart racing classes with no duration check? Us recreational folks have to be on the lookout for "cheater" parts that are only good for modest gains, vs true performance parts. I'd like to see you do this test with a 265 lift cam.

    • @mlindsay527
      @mlindsay527 2 года назад

      @@joegim It is technically within the rules for some kart racing classes. Cams have two measurements which determine how long(duration) and how far (lift) they open the valves. A mod 2 has stock lift but long duration to skirt the rules that only limit lift. A cam designed for performance with no regard to rules will have increased lift and duration.

      i know this is old but for anyone looking at this... you should have/ get a billet rod and flywheel if you want to rip at high rpm. If the engine has no governor( i assume it doesn't ) it could break and damage your whole engine.
