Visiting STUNNING Dambulla Cave Temple & Treehouse Stay | SRI LANKA SERIES

After some amazing days in Anuradhapura & Mihintale, we headed south towards Dambulla. Famous for the nearby Sigiriya Rock, Dambulla Cave Temple (Golden Temple) & Polonnaruwa, all important UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Sri Lanka. Dambulla Cave Temple will leave you speechless with its spectacular Buddhist murals, detailed colorful paintings, and over 100 Buddha statues. It is one of the oldest pilgrimage sites, dating back 2200 years, and is part of the famous Cultural Triangle in Sri Lanka.
This whole region once used to be ‘The Country of Kings’, making it a historical destination with unique sights to see. Elevated above the countryside, the Dambulla Cave Temple is the best-preserved and most extensive cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Buddhism has a long history and presence in the country, and the Dambulla cave temple represents one of the oldest sites for Buddhist monasticism.
