Saw this yesterday at some sidings just outside of Peterborough. I was on a train passing it so I wouldn’t of thought that you would’ve been able to see it from the station, unfortunately
I saw what I am aure was this HST set, as it was in the same livery, leaving Great Yarmouth heading towards Acle. I was on the Acle Straight heading to GY. This would have been, I think, Thursday 22nd at about 18:45 or so.
Nice vid of class 43. But I did take a note that 1 had 13 X mark 3 passenger cars making it long. The average under B.R. use to be about 8 to 10 passenger cars.
Music is my own composition based on a track I composed about 20 years ago. You can find my original in my 2011 Gallery. Neither are available commercially.
It’s a shame rail operators couldn’t have made up 12 car HSTs in UK, when I used to commute to London, the amount of times I had to stand in the vestibule, luggage areas!
Typical BR track as original or economic layout, have to get out of bed to turn over. As SBB, OBB or DB track works are to be observed, crossovers will be for track speed, both leading and trailing cross overs will be available at least every 10km or less if stations are closer, bi-directional signals and the locos have retracting mirrors for the driver. No stopping to reverse, no reverse in this instance, pass disabled units or do track works. But no investment or negative investment leaves us with what we have got? £££ and time lost.
Such a shame that those GWR coaches are going to Mexico and end up with the crap plastic class 800's with the most uncomfortable seats in the world. Well apart from the pacers, they were things from hell.
What a great location! Loved these bridge shots and the captures. Thumbs up and greetings to you. Andrew

Thanks for nice crisp video and unusual moves, and also a station I have never seen on video before!
From Picton, South Island New Zealand.
You're welcome. Plenty of footage from Wymondham in my channel. It's a lovely little station.
Nice to see that even after 40+ years HSTs and mk3s are still in good enough order to be exported to Mexico.. A tribute to a great design..
And a travesty that they've been replaced with far inferior units for long haul.
@@cmeonthemove A truer statement has never been said
Nicely captured, certainly an unusual move!
Excellent footage of this rare HST move. Nice one. 😀
Do you know why it's doing the move!?
@@JimmysTransportMarvels the power cars were moving some former GWR Mk3 coaches to another location. I reckon they'll be exported.
Bound for Mexico eventually. Until then they'll be stored on the MNR.
Another excellent vid
Excellent video Chris! I was one of the trainspotters on the platform though the bridge looks to have been a good filming point...
Definitely prefer the bridge as there's no chance of anyone standing in the shot. Pity it was so crowded otherwise would have said hello.
@cmeonthemove Definitely going to use the bridge for next time, hopefully on Monday with the Pullman ECS, and yes it will be good to say hi one day
@cmeonthemove Got my video up earlier after re-editing bits in, made the most of the platform space although a few got in the shots
Just out of interest where was the hst heading for to the right ot the signal box, as I'm not familiar with this area nice video,@@cmeonthemove
@@joginns778 The single track that heads off from the Mainline goes to the Mid-Norfolk Railway on the other side of Wymondham

Looking forward to this. I was at Ely
I was there too 😊

BR was 7 or 8, and the longest sets in normal service after privatisation were nine MK3 coaches
I was at Ely yesterday to see these HST power cars. Had seen pics but to see the real thing was mind blowing.
I'm pretty sure I saw those class 43's at the Watercress diesel 2024 gala.
43480 and 43468 attended that event.
Possibly going into temporary storage at the Mid Norfolk Railway/Network Rail sidings?
MNR Kimberley while the coaches await their boat to Mexico.
Great vid. Anyone know the itro music?.

Why just 1 Light??
Unusual to see a 12 car hst, even as a stock move. Was it on it's way into storage?
Yes - the mk3s are bound for Mexico eventually.
9:25 : Imagine the tripodders dash over the footbridge if that FLIRT had come in two minutes earlier.. 😂
Yes we on the other side had a good giggle about that! Thankfully it all worked out for them in the end.
