Olly Alexander received zero points in the public vote. Unfortunately, it was a tacky performance this year. Being proud of your country and flying the flag is a sign of identification with your country's values. That is quite natural. Woke and some of the LGBTQ people have difficulty with that because they have a divisive mindset. They have to divide, because division is the basis of their twisted ideology. I suspect that the UK coming second was as much of a fix as Ukraine coming first. The EBU wanted the UK to pay to host the following year on behalf of Ukraine. That was a unique circumstance because they wanted something from this country. They’re back to hating on the UK again now.

Because no matter how many freak shows they promote I always find a few songs that I like in semifinals or national selections.
The jury vote is fifty fifty rigged. Corrupt judges not giving fair scores for the songs, but clearly still half political. However the jury vote does on average make the scoring more fair than it used to be. And a couple of years ago if you ignore the wildcard Ukraine vote - the UK actually did win when we presented with a good song.

The Union Flag represents whatever the country represents, back when Ginger Spice wore it - we were in the era of "Cool Britannia" whereby the labour government of the day embraced diversity and equality and actively levelled up the poorest in our community, eradicting child poverty, massively investing in the NHS, nowadays you have a quasi-fascist government wrapping themselves in the flag, pouring scorn on diversity, leaving the EU, helping only the rich get richer and making the UK a laughing stock into the bargain.
