Ross and the band sang this at Bluesfest 2022 last month ... I did the Liquid Lightshow and I can tell you he sings it ever so much better now as a 74 year old than he did 30 years ago xxx
I understand why you do the live arrangement is awesome and Ross his vocals are on point and optimum the only thing would be to mike up the guitar more but that's it xx
Exactly best sound out there dave for this song, slick camera work, maybe the ABC did a promo. It looks like the ABC similar to the oils on the water footage concert in 1985, about that time.

Grew up in the '90s in America. Had no idea who this badass band was or that "Australian pub rock" was even a thing until about two weeks ago. This and v.Spy v.Spy are great.
A by gone era sadly. there were so many bands touring Australia every week in your local pub. INXS cut their teeth in Aussie pubs along with The Little River Band and AD/DC.
The lead break is down in volume becouse this was taken straight off the sound desk were you listen to the (front of house speakers) PA System with your ears ..it would of be loud infront of the speakers ..he was mixing for the crowd so not for a recording.. headphones are not used to mix live as you got to hear the PA System ...you use headphones to check for a problem on an individual channel ( instrument/ vocal ect)...l was a sound engineer in the 80s ..l was doing lighting when we worked with mondo rock ..mondos lighting guy got glass in his eye the night before did make it to set up so l was in charge of rigging 300 light concert rig ..l had 6 riggers .
Ross just doesn’t age. He’s pushing 60 in this if this was filmed in the early 2000s. If you do the math he looked like he was late 20s in the 80s when he was actually in his 40s
Watching this is just plain cruel with no sound from Eric's guitar. You can very faintly hear it, anyone have the experience to download this and try and amplify it ? Its a bit out of my range of expertise.
Yes in the first parts of the song it was at the correct level, whoever mixed it and managed to lose the guitar solo at the end should forever be ashamed.

This song defines the 80’s growing up in Australia
Ross Wilson should be a classified national treasure. Mighty Mondos

I Iove this song. Great Aussie music.
Oh wow! Never seen this before! Thanks for sharing! The Mighty Mondos! What an awesome time it was to be a teenager during the 80’s!
An 80s classic and a great song Ross looks like he's having as ball
Have been obsessed with this recently for some reason! 2019!
Same here, loved the original, but this has to be my favourite performance.
same in 2020
I understand why you do the live arrangement is awesome and Ross his vocals are on point and optimum the only thing would be to mike up the guitar more but that's it xx
Your obsession is the great Australian talent,Mondo rock
Brilliant live performance of their great song. I can remember some of the 80s, not all, as it was pretty wild.
That crowd is going nuts. Love the way the keyboard player works them into a frenzy with his stage antics.
My favourite song since I was a kid.... 49 years old now
Me too! Same age!
Me too same age.
Fuck yeah Mondo were awesome live! Aussies were so underground back in the day. Everything except ACDC we got to enjoy to ourselves!
Yes, a rare, and beautiful, treat that's for sure! Watching Ross is always a treat. He's so good. A rare and unique talent. Thanks!
Great Aussie band
Where has this little Gem been hiding? Mondo's live we're up with the best Aussie acts
Exactly best sound out there dave for this song, slick camera work, maybe the ABC did a promo. It looks like the ABC similar to the oils on the water footage concert in 1985, about that time.
Just the best find. Thanks I’m so happy. Xxx ❤️👏🏻🇦🇺🎸😘
Saw Ross Wilson and the Peaceniks perform at the Pretoria Hotel, Mannum. Still sounded just as good.

Ho, oh, oh, oh
Ho, oh, oh, oh
Ho, oh, oh, oh
Ho, oh, oh, oh
[Verse 2]
And she said
"Well I've been waiting for a long time
And you've changed a lot
Up 'til now it's been the wrong time
To know whether to from here or not
[Chorus 2]
Oh well come with me boy
Just take my hand
I'll let you see what you wanna see
Come on be a man for me

We've both been waiting for a long time
We've both changed a lot
Up 'til now it seemed the wrong time

Let's do what we wanna do
Let me be a man for you

Great sax sound.
Grew up in the '90s in America. Had no idea who this badass band was or that "Australian pub rock" was even a thing until about two weeks ago. This and v.Spy v.Spy are great.
Plenty of good aussie bands in the eighties ..you'll discover them..enjoy
A by gone era sadly. there were so many bands touring Australia every week in your local pub. INXS cut their teeth in Aussie pubs along with The Little River Band and AD/DC.
Try.. baby animals.. icehouse..
Midnight Oil will rock ya socks
I agree with the bands the others are recommending. Let me add Divinyls, The Screaming Jets, Boom Crash Opera, Noiseworks and The Angels.
Awesome band 💖 this song
💯 best
What a classic
Oh how I love The Mighty Mondos!Ross is the Boss!
Classic Oz Rock!
Great track! But that bass line👌

Great feed back and it was a rehearsal so it’s exactly what you have said
@@Lanewaymusic This video was a rehearsal?
Fantastic. Appreciate the explaination!
@@PatrickJWenzel
Wonderful!
Love the 80s era it was some great times listening to good music not like the crap there putting out now
star .
Im a mid 50s born feel so proud has experienced all the best melodies till 90s later video killed the radio star.
Regular rotation at the local Rollarama!!
Nothing like Eric McCuskers guitar
would have been better if you could hear the good bit
this reminds me of Bonnie from the 80's😁
On my playlist
Fucking brilliant
Totally awesome footage!
Before Mobile Phones and Internet.
If this was St Kilda now you'd have 20+k people
Eric's ending solo ? Shattered !
yes agree
@@Lanewaymusic Low volume
up with the best!
henry davis you got that right
mondo rockを知るまでに40年掛かってしまった
Tight.
Always
They are so tight as musicians and great outro but Eric's amps needed to be micked up way more would have took to the next level 😊
Correct
YES! A shame we can’t hear it as well by the end.
Its a shame that Erics solo at the end was lost with a drop out in sound...
I think the sound guy was asleep!
Killed me 😭
@@housetoocrowded7825 Please check @michaelmayo9048 info
man if you could only hear that guitar from 4.50 onwards
Yes we wish
I seem to remember more people at this gig? Then again it was 30 years ago =^)
very lucky!
Eric is a fine guitarist...
Ross just doesn’t age. He’s pushing 60 in this if this was filmed in the early 2000s. If you do the math he looked like he was late 20s in the 80s when he was actually in his 40s
1988 Melbourne Show Grounds
@@Lanewaymusic that is great footage for the 80s. Then he’s in his forties looking young in the footage.
What a pity the low volume during the guitar solo
Andrew Ross
Watching this is just plain cruel with no sound from Eric's guitar. You can very faintly hear it, anyone have the experience to download this and try and amplify it ? Its a bit out of my range of expertise.
Love this song but was the crowd asleep o.O or perhaps they did not appreciate what this song has become or realised what it would have become....
Damn - the mix lost Eric's climactic guitar solo at the end. Criminal negligence.
Agreed
Yes in the first parts of the song it was at the correct level, whoever mixed it and managed to lose the guitar solo at the end should forever be ashamed.
What year is this? The live performance I mean. I know the original is from 1983/84.
1988
Under the southern cross show at the Melbourne Showgrounds
Yamaha dx7 and Roland Jupiter yum...something happened to the guitar solo at the end seems to be mixed out
sounds good regardless of that exception, I must say this sound and video recording is the finest on youtube .
Where was this concert?
Melbourne show grounds. These are out takes of the bands that did not make it to the under the southern stars dvd
what year?
1988
Should have miced up Erics guitar amp.
The mice would have gone deaf =^)
At the end lead guitar mike turned off ?????? WTF
Just too jurrey
can't hear the guitar solo
They cut the guitar out wth
It's a pity you can't hear the guitar work, not sure what the sound guys were doing but the lead break was non existent. Otherwise great song.
The lamest crowd Ive ever seen. I would have been going mental lol
Can,t hear the lead brake in this song .. Thats not good ..
Very unfortunate due to rehearsal. Would have been perfect if it was there
