Hi everyone! Thanks for visiting my channel. It's been several months since I posted a project and I am so happy to be back in the groove now. I hope you enjoy the challenge to finish in 24 hours and I invite you to please leave a comment telling me what you think of it. Even if you do not like it, I'd like to hear about it. Just be nice. If you want to see another project of mine, then check out this link -- ruclips.net/video/ePvxyk-uTq0/видео.html. See you in the next one!

You have no idea how much I missed your videos- ‘I’ had no idea! Kept checking every day and sure enough, the one day I don’t check, you’re back! Loved this project. You certainly did do it in 24 hours but I would have stopped the timer to play with the pets! I don’t think the 24 hours had to be in a row exactly. Anyway- glad you’re back and that bench is perfect for the butterfly garden! 👍🦋

That bench will always have a story with it. The neighbors will tell of Matt who kindly donated it along with his hard work. They will sit and rub it with their hands and say “she’s a beauty.” Beautiful piece with years of life now. Linda Beals.

My heart was pounding watching the clock, and all I was doing was sitting here watching YOU work. Beautiful and thoughtful gift for your community. I hope some of your neighbors see this and make a commitment to maintain the bench. I suggest you put your maker’s mark or other identifying marking on the bench to further endear your thoughtful gift to your community.

A mark on it is a great idea. I'll try to burn one in on the bottom side before I leave. I was pretty calm through it all until the last few hours. I was totally freaking out during reassembly and staining. Thanks!!

Welcome back! I think you did an amazing job in 24 hours. I really think letting the glue and stain sit for a day was the best. I think you did "restore" it in 24 hours but you couldn't put the poly on as the rest needed the curing time prior to application.
Good luck with the move. I'm sure you wont miss the trains.

Yeah, I'm thinking it was used as a coffee table type set up too. Once I got the two top pieces together, it was obviously a little bigger than a conventional bench but it will still work for that. Given the water damage on the legs, I assume it was used outdoors before I found it.

Question? The glue up drying is not added to the total restoration time?

It was while I was working on it. I tried to do other things while giving the glue just enough time to set like doing something else on the project, cleaning up my work area, etc. Once I passed the cut-off time, I decided to go ahead and give the glue and stain a day to completely cure. I didn't think that far ahead when I first started this. I had the idea to do it and in about 20 minutes, it was on!

Technically, no, you didn't. I'm not mad about it, though. Good job, particularly wrt the intended use. Personally, I'd never set a deadline like that, even if it was arbitrary. It stresses me out too much. Just the opposite when I was young, dumb, and full of...something.
    Good job, though.

Did you turn the timer off for every cup of coffee, every pit stop, every time you petted the pets, etc. etc. etc.? Sure, you finished in 24 hours!!!😺

No but maybe I should have...next time for sure. I was a little stressed those last few hours!! I spent too much time playing with the dogs and cats! 😻🐶🍀

Back from where? Bench is too short.

I took a break from posting new projects. It might be too short but it is the same length as when I found it. It was probably meant to be a coffee table anyway. It's the perfect height for that but it will still work as a bench.
