*_Jim, you've lost weight, good for you._*
*_But you've also lost weight and muscle in your shoulders, so now your head is too big._*
Thanks for posting, Jim. 😇
Jim you are a national treasure. You mentioned early in your stand-up that you don't drink (thinking of the Jager joke). Now you're doing videos on Bourbon!! 😁 I guess something changed along the way! I am glad to have you on team Bourbon! You are very good at this kind of format. It reminds me a little of the way Letterman would do his skits. Very well put together!
Wow, thanks!
Oh my gosh! Can you host a travel food/drink show?? I would watch it, set up your fan club, and sell T-shirts!! Pleeeeaaase!!! 😍
That sailor was NOT kissing his wife😂
Came here to say that. - Though I would have put the 'not' in a different place. That was NOT his wife he was kissing.
It was an assault.
@@julianarodriguex899 Not relevant to the conversation. We're discussing the fact that she's not his wife.
I was going to add “you idiot!”
@@kathleenr4047 nah, you're the one who rearranged it to say that. original statement: the sailor *was not* kissing his wife; the sailor *was* assaulting a stranger is just as valid a reading of it as yours. pity you flinch back from the truth stated plainly and want that to dictate the temperature of the room, though.
Jim, being raised in Kentucky, I am really enjoying your Bourbon journey. Cheers!
The number of times I have been called the "Jim Gaffigan of Bourbon" or people compared me to you is wild...and now it all comes full circle 😂
❤ From Switzerland 🇨🇭
"So we picked a classy bottle"
It's a Tomb Stone ffs! 😂🤣😂
❤love ya Jim 😊
Gah`morning J.G.
The Scottish Gaelic for whisky is uisge-beatha (said ooshkih beh-ha). It means water of life.
Ky here.. this is too great
James… Do I see you sitting with your brothers? This is a nice little series👍
Love it! Too funny
I’ll have an occasional glass of wine and that’s it but I thought this was incredibly interesting - well done❤
I love you Jim! If there is any way that you can visit Bob Dylan's whiskey production please do! It is an amazing drink...check it out! you are the funniest guy! please come to Hawaii soon.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Whisky Jimmy boy 😁 I myself started drinking (and smoking cigars) when i turned 40 and it is a very enjoyable hobby. Hope you enjoy the ride down the rabbit hole lol
This is great!
Very good, Jim. Hope to see a lot more of this. A lot goes into making good whiskey and distilling is a very interesting process.
This series is so informative, and i dont even drink, yet.
The resurgence of craft brewing helped bring back bourbon...and other spirits.
Great Video, Jim. I like this new series
More to come!
YAY!
It would all be full circle if we found out Point Pale Ale was brewed in old bourbon barrels. We miss your NY’s Eve shows in Milwaukee.
It's those Kentucky coal ash spills that makes the water taste so good.
I hope there is a poop joke in there somewhere
I’m old and still enjoy a good poop joke. Farts jokes are good too. What’s the saying? You can grow old and not grow up. 😂
well, I mean alcohol is just yeast poop...
@@nivisionthere it is
Only in the last decade or so has Bourbon transformed its image from a backwoods farm boy spirit to this new and potentially revered place in US alcohol consumption history. It has eclipsed Gin and Vodka (which BTW had their meteoric rise in popularity in the US during the 60's primarily because of the James Bond martini fad) to take its place as a superior spirit with dignified and complex flavors. Wonder if Rye will be the next fad?
I blame the Justified series for the rise of Bourbon popularity.
Whoever edited this did an amazing job
I'm not a drinker, but I may start!!!😂
How brilliant to do a series about booze! They say do what you love! Bravo, Jim!
Funniest comedian out there!
As he ages he sounds like John Malkovich
cheers sir - thanks for the vid. I might need a couple fingers of Michter's now...
Awe man I just know that I should never be in the same place as Jim if I was to meet him in the same kind of setting as the video......i have the same brain that operates on sarcasm and jokes that fly over people's heads
Bumping heads is wonderful but only while drinking bourbon. I bet you won't feel the bump as much🐒 Jim's a riot! 😬
I was once told that in Kentucky, liquor is illegal in Bourbon County, and strip joints are legal in Christian County.
any chance you're coming to Oslo soon?
There's something about Jim Gaffigan (that's not right). Only kidding. Jim is my antihero.
I"ll take a bottle of Pappy's.
LOL, I read the tour line in the description and wondered, "Why'd you name your son Savannah?" Not that there's anything wrong with that...
Humility is in the room however the tasting room seems VIP only. Conflict much?
I've been drinking peanut butter whiskey lately. Don't nock it tell you try it. SO GOOD! and kids should drink it! NO,NO,NO! they may have a peanut allergy
add some Chambord and it'll taste like peanut butter and jelly!!
Thanks Jim 👍
👍😂👍
Can someone explain to me the difference between whisky, bourbon, and scotch?
whiskey is any distilled grain product aged in barrels, that pretty much sums it up. Bourbon, Scotch, Irish, Canadian etc are different styles of whisky (or whiskey, depending on origin)
Jim, I enjoy bourbon as much as your comedy, but please tell me this wasn’t sponsored by Big Whiskey.
It wasn’t at all. I promise
@@jimgaffigan that’s good to hear if you are really Jim Gaffigan and not an AI bot. But really the video was well done. Same for the video with the Pursuit United guys. Give us more bourbon comedy!
dont forget about Rye whiskeys
I don't think it's that the whisky [whiskey with an e since it's American/Irish] goes into the wood of the barrel and comes out every year, I think when it's cold it just doesn't move much at all, so not a lot of flavour transfer from the wood will happen
I take that back. Any whisky that's soaked into the barrel and too cold to interact much with the barrel contents would indeed "come back out" when it's warmer. the process of having some locked up in the wood & released back during summer must add that aged flavour
👍
I mean isn't that the European way steal something and name it something different. Like french fries and Africans....too dark? lmao
Sailor is not kissing his wife he gets the first girl he came to
Nice video, but the guy is wrong. The ancient Greeks were NOT making "whiskey". (7:35). What little they knew about distillation was being used for perfumes, and some experiments distilling water. If anything, what little they did might have been brandy (i.e. distilled wine).
Alcohol never solves problems lol😂
This will be known as "The Tour Jim can't remember". "When did I get this Blue Grass Daddy tattoo on my a$$"?
On the Mayflower, every man, woman and child was rationed a gallon of beer per day. Fact.
All human endeavors are improved by alcohol.
WRONG: 7:40 distilled fruit (wine) “is the oldest spirit known to man”
God damn, how many cuts do you have for every sentence? Was 98% of what you all said just garbage? Or what happened?
