Great review! Nice to hear two opinions. As for the touch controls. They are ok when you are stopped and able to look down, but not so much when you are driving and trying to keep your finger in one spot to change volume or some other option.
Great look Simone & Jenny at this New 2022 Hyundai Tucson! I like this SUV a lot except I have (3) complaints. 1, Needs a cover/cowl over the digital gauge cluster. 2, No DEDICATED VOLUME KNOB, all touch screen is fine except this glaring omission & 3, I still don't like where Hyundai designers place the turn-signal indicators. Too low on the bumper,...They should have integrated them with the rear LED taillights but oh well. The New styling has grown on me, it has taken some getting use to as I have a 2019 Tucson Ultimate, and this 4th gen' Tucson is radically different. Thanks for this early review Simone & Jenny, I'll be watching!
Awesome review ladies. This car for me is the best that's available in AU right now. I've test driven what's out there and even compared to the Rav 4, Subaru Forster, etc. It just is so outstanding, I love this car and think Hyundai have stepped up their game. Yes, there's no hybrid option (right now) in AU and Hyundai released a statement explaining that it's due to our government lacking on emission incentives etc so AU is low on the list for getting them until things change. I love the new dash and all the screens, not having a volume knob doesn't bother me as there is voice commands, steering wheel controls as well as the dash. The glare isn't a factor due the anti glare screen. Also, not that concerned about dust as its no different that every car with a screen in it. The seats are soooo comfortable. I love that it comes with heated steering wheel, back seats and front and the front also has cooling as well. Which in AU for me is fantastic for those hot WA summer days. I also love the ambient lighting which comes with 64 different colour options. Just a nice feature and makes this car feel a little more luxurious. It's got great handling and the AWD tech is pretty good for a mid SUV. It's no Land Cruiser but for simi off road weekends away, even in the WA mid west, it handles amazingly and is just a really nice drive. The push button gears doesn't bother me either as it gives more room and just makes the front cabin feel more spacious and also give a more minimal feel. Same as not having the dash cover over hang. Honestly don't miss it. Overall great SUV.
Hi all. Had my 2022 Tucson turbo diesel highlander. Top of the range model now for 7 days. Here are some things I have found out. Never told to me. 1. If you remote start the vehicle. It resets the climate control back to auto 22 degrees C and fresh air no Air con either. 2. If you push and hold the unlock button on the remote it outs the windows down lock puts them up. 3. Must push and hold boot remote to put tail gate down. 4. 18degrees C was pushing out extremely hot air. This is because there are sensors in the cabin warming it up to 18 then maintain it with cooler air. 5. If put in sport mode it won’t resets back to eco mode when you turn off the engine. 6. Rear USB ports are not enough to charge an iPad. Even though it says charging. There is other things also Hope this helps.
My wife's Hyundai i30SRTurboPremium also comes with all the bells and whistles and we both love the (physical) knob, for tuning etc.. And our take on the Aussie Tuscon Long Wheel Base model is that it trumps the EU/UK SWB one. That extra rear leg room keeps the oldies & the kids happy as ...........................[fill the gaps]

My Tuscan gave its life for my wife and kids on the 3/3/21 in a horror 4 car smash where a Corolla rear ended a VZ commodore then the Corolla was rear ended by the Skyline following it pushing the Little Toyota into the other lane and on coming Traffic which was my wife and kids 8 and 5 years in our 2019 Tucson which was doing 110kph in the other direction. All air bags deployed saving my family reducing there injuries to Bumps and bruises. Thank you 🙏 Hyundai. Now we have to wait for our new Tucson hopefully a 2021 model with the old for new insurance. Unfortunately it could be a long wait no new cars around due to the Rona .
Excellent review as always from Jenny and Simone well done. But I'm not a fan of dct's not sure on their long term durability.. I prefer conventional autos but seems they are dying out in favour of dct and cvt,'s

Good call on the Ev situation .My take is why would car makers bother with EV or Hybrid cars in Australia when our Gv's make it so hard to own one there is a few out there but few and far between.

Australia needs to mandate a phase out of petrol and diesel vehicles. If they don't legacy auto makers will dump their old polluting technology into Australia. It is time to stop promoting old polluting technology and go all in with electric vehicles. There are so many new electric vehicles for 2020 - 2021. People need to speak up so the new technology all electric vehicles come to to Australia sooner rather than later. All transportation will go electric in the future. Why keep promoting OLD technology from last century.
