That is weird how the bolts rusted like that, It could be Galvanic corrosion because of the body being of a different metal from the screws, Great find and awesome video by the way.
So good to finally be able to see what's inside this thing.
Have you tried heating the screws with a soldering iron for easier removal? Small screws can be made out of longer ones: spin down a half nut, hacksaw cut perpendicular across shaft, tidy up with a file, and undo nut to re-establish thread. Super video, by the way.
Some of the screws show white corrosion, which is indicative of cadmium corrosion, so take care when cleaning them.
When I worked at a repair facility for military comms hardware, we found out that units with cadmium plated parts would rapidly corrode when packed in wooden boxes without an intermediate barrier, such as a sealed plastic bag, so that might be what has happened in this case.
It also could be an aluminium oxide from the case itself._
Hi do you keep these disassembled parts? You disassembled a binocular once. If you are up to it, I would like to buy the tubes.
Can i ask you something? I've got one of these in really good condition, what i have to do for make it work?
I need this for my little car!
I really feel for you swiss army knife
Une version en français serait tellement cool ...
