Those red flags are everywhere but she’s coloured blind and she’s too busy jumping to the next stage of this relationship when her current marriage is even over. I’m finding Kristen’s life choices very frustrating to watch.
She should have stayed with Clarke. He actually wasn't a bad husband to her. I thought he was much worse when I watched the first time, but he hasn't cheated at all since they were married.

So this must be where the idea came from of competing over having the portrait up of whichever woman is head of the house at the time. I know after Stephanie died, Eric had the same issue with Quinn & Rick with Maya of replacing Stephanie’s portrait with theirs
Mick is acting ridiculous to be surprised that Kristen (who is married) would expect to get married after her divorce, especially after how he chased her down.
But I suspect that’s probably one of the other reasons why it didn’t work out in New York. Besides him coming on strong with her, I’m guessing he had put it to her that he didn’t want to get married. He said it very quickly when he was with Macy so there’s no reason why we should assume Kristen wouldn’t have known when she was with him before. It’s not like he would hide it from the women he’s with.
Something else I noticed is Caroline's hair color... While she was with Thorne her blonde was toned down and was almost a dull color. After they split it became light again which really brightens her. Was it done on purpose maybe to show her psychological state?
I feel like Caroline's hairstyles changed a ton over the first 4 seasons and she went back and forth on different looks. I don't think that bleach blonde look from Season 1 and the early part of Season 2 suited her at all. It made her look too much like a girl stuck in the 80s. She still randomly went back to that style throughout Season 2 before finally going with a darker style the rest of her time on the show in like late Season 3 and Season 4. I think this style she's got in episodes like this is perfect for her because it looks timeless.

The portrait stuff is weird. I personally would be weirded out by a portrait of myself hanging in my living room. That's just me. If anyone has a portrait of themselves it's cool for them. I just wouldn't want to be just sitting in my house, chilling and look up and see myself staring back at me. 😂 I have a large portrait of Stevie Nicks hanging in my living room though.
I have a very large photo of myself of when I was a baby taken by my grandfather in 1959. I have it hanging in a spare bedroom. I’d like to get rid of it though I feel a bit guilty.

I reckon she still had a couple of months left on her contract when they filmed this, given the air date, and she decided not to renew when the time came. I believe she signed a short subsequent contract after that to allow Bill Bell to write her out properly. Susan Flannery did the same when she left.

I thought the photo was of Caroline's mother. I didn't know that it was Caroline's photo. The photo looks old fashioned to be Caroline. I wonder why they didn't have a more modern look for someone as young as Caroline. Again, just like Margo, the actress that plays Caroline is beautiful, but the photo is terrible.

In ep. 31 at 7:13 you can get a really good look at the original picture over the fire place - and that had been Marion Spencer. That first portrait with Bill's wife gave off a warmer impression ,because Marion wore an apricot (?) colored dress and she was clearly smiling, than Caroline's portrait (black and white dominates too much here). I think Bill took off Marion and put up Caroline's portrait when Caroline had moved out (and we had an episode of Bill talking about how much he misses seeing Caroline).

I found myself fast forwarding the scenes between characters Ridge and Caroline...the chemistry is a bit flat. I could not do this back in 1990..lol no VHS yet..lol This couple for me was just not exciting..they tried real hard with the music and the hazy glossing over the camera ..but it just bored me.
