Ohhhhh I loooove the vision. That lone plant that was growing close to the porch was already cute but, with a bunch more, intentionally planted, the house is gonna look like a tropical paradise. The greenery will pop against the house color. Its gonna be a treat to watch the plants grow over time. You guys are creating a dream home for sure :) Looking forward to watch you complete your vision for the house and property! Thanks for sharing.

That was a smart waynto move the metal siding. I admit I never anticipated a garden area in that location but it is a brilliant idea. It can be enjoyed from the big porch, the small balcony off the Primary bedroom and from the yard. The house is looking so fresh and crisp. Definitely an amazing transformation.

As I watch you stack your roofing, it seems like it would make nice planting beds, either in a nice organized garden or for landscaping around your property. I love the color of your house! ❤

the roofing might be nice if youre going to build a workshop at youre place , there might be enough there to do the sides of the shop with too
planter idea is nice though you might overdid it a little with the 6x6 beams , when filled you whont see the difference between a 6x6 and a 6 x2 if you cap them with a 6x1 board , you can make them a little higher too and stake them intoo the ground and do two levels , the front being 6 inch and the back part 12 inches high , still leaves a space open under the house but allows you to put smaller more groundhugging stuff in the front and maibe have some hanging/ crawling plants drape over the raised edge in the back, could even do long planters mounted to the siding over the opening under the house with some legs in the front painted the same colour as the trim and plant even more hanging stuff over that , you will have to make a watering system for those though
i remember when i was young there was some building going on in my neighbourhood and the used pinetree trunks as piling , they cut them to length , i took the cut off pieces home with me and used those dug in vertically as a border , looked nice and rustic for a while untill the bark came off and they started rotting

Recycle the sheets cut them down to length and use them as cover for under the house paint the sheets in a contrasting colour just an idea of course 😊

heres a thought on the old metal roofing,, use it for Skiriting on the mobile home, its so much better than the crappy plastic they sell,,

Couldnt figure out what your plans were for the big pcs of lumber BUT sneak peek was so cool....cant wait!!! I love all of your side projects....keeps everything interesting.❤
How about you build a pole barn and use the metal roofing for roof and siding. It could be an open side for ease of loading and unloading stuff in it out of the weather. Also you could have elevated shelving above the flood line to keep it dry. Just a thought

I thought you were gonna stack the 6x6s to make a filler wall between the columns, which would block off the the bottom of the house and make it look more 'complete' (for lack of a better term).. I was obviousily wrong.. You're always doing something interesting, keep up the good work.
@michaelbowen463. * When they first moved to Florida their pond flooded the property due to a big storm. They prefer to allow easy access for air and water to move as necessary. Doug mentioned lattice around the base but that may have changed.
you need one big shop to be the garage and the storage/workshop. yes that will be $$$. All have to be raised due to flooding too.

You can use that roofing for a storage shed. A wood frame and metal roof and sides. Paint to match the house.
It wouldn't be ideal though. And it's a little more complicated on this property. We like we said, we're working on it.

The roofing could be used as skirting...
We can't have a solid skirting on this home since the crawlspace needs to air out. This property floods occasionally and the crawlspace fills with water, plus sometimes the water table gets so high that water shows up. Plus, metal roofing isn't the look we're going for.
one idea for that tin would be to start building a shop. Or at least a roof to cover you stuff.
We would not build a new shop with used metal roofing. We'd rather do it right and make it nice.

my friend in Michigan got two of those large storage containers in nice shape almost new for 3000 each they are like 8x40?
Storage containers are not ideal for us.

U need a garage to put all ur vehicles 1st. Else it will start looking like a junkyard.
Why not make a flap for the skirting where you are not boxing? You can open upwards and still use the bottom as storage?
I don't really understand the question. We are only moving the stuff that is in our way. Ideally, we don't want to store anything under our home at all. And we talked about our plans for future storage buildings.
@@diyfferent you mentioned previously that you wanted to cover the bottom with a lattice. I thought it will be good to have one of the lattice with a hinge that can open upwards and take out the stuff…but ok…I got it. It’s just temporary storage and you don’t plan to store anything below the house. 👍👍
