Idk why but fall imo is one of the best times to film steam when the colors change and the weather gets cooler, making steam exhaust be more visible before winter comes.
I would say fall is THE best time to film steam although all seasons are great in their own way. It has the most variety out of any season, and it's when a lot of steam operations have their big excursions or photo charters, so you can get a huge amount of variety.
follow up if i may, it wouldn't just somehow happen to be the exact same PRR 3 chime that the "Spirit Of Altoona", K4s class pacific no.1361 wore on her final days of mainline service in the '80's?
