- Mother Tara is more than the "swift one, the hero" who leaps to our aid when we are in trouble -- she is the Mother Buddha of the Northern Purelands, the co-equal Buddha with Amoghasiddhi. Tara, as the Prajna Mother of Karma (Activity) is the most accessible in our world. Her mantra in Sanskrit is:
Om Tare Tutture Ture Svaha
With faith, this mantra is a complete practice, if you understand the meaning of the mantra and recite with devotion. According to commentary from the First Dalai Lama, the mantra can be understood this way:
The mantra has many layers of activation and meaning:
“Om , is homage to the Body Speech and Mind of Tara.
Tare, liberates and saves us from suffering in Samsara -- the suffering of this world and all six dimensions.
Tuttare liberates us from the 8 inner dangers, 8 external types of dangers and 8 supernatural dangers.
Ture, liberates us from disease.
Svaha, is the root of the path, and means “be it so” or “well said.”

Her sacred Seed Syllable (heart syllable) is TAM.
If you are in trouble, those with faith simply call out her name, her seed syllable TAM or her mantra.

When you do not have Tara empowerment, you visualize Tara in front of you with her powerful blessing light going out to all beings including yourself, helping them, then returning to your own heart where Tara resides forever.

Wisdom: All Accomplishing (the activities of wisdom or accomplishiment)

Position: North
She is the Mother of the Northern Karma family. Her Green Color symbolizes the combination of all four activities into one: pacifying evil and obstacles, magnetizing and empowering positive karma, enriching, and even wrathful (like the wrathful mother, protecting her children.) She is all of these, and more, as the Mother of All the Buddhas.
She is called the Mother of All Buddhas because she represents Enlightened Wisdom -- and the activities of wisdom in our samsaric world. Through wisdom, all Buddha's and Bodhisattvas can attain Enlightenment. Wisdom is mother.
Her co-equal is the Buddha of the North Amoghasiddhi, also green in color.

In Mahayana Sutra there are many mentions of Tara, from the great Mahavairochana Sutra (you'll find Buddha transmitting her mantra there, with many other Bodhisattvas) to her own Sutra, tārā ṣṭaghoratāraṇī sūtra (which translates as The Noble Sūtra Tārā Who Protects from the Eight Dangers (*Āryatārāṣṭaghoratāraṇīsūtra)) which we have as a PDF in English on BuddhaWeekly.com (also a recitation video here, about 8 minutes ): ruclips.net/video/2Ec8RKV1A8E/видео.html&t
In the Mañjuśrīmūlakalpa Tara is likewise mentioned, along with dozens of other Mahayana Sutras. You'll find her among the assembly in the Lalitavistara which is the long story of Buddha's life.
These are all Sutras, the Buddha's Dharma.
There are also plenty of Tantras, such as The Hundred and Eight Names of Tara, the Tārāsvapratijñādhāraṇī (Tara's Own Promise), etc, etc. Hope that helps you in your search. In kindness, BW🙏🙏🙏

@@navinbajaj3534 In Sanskrit we chant the Sanskrit word which is Svaha (it's pronounced softly on the "v" though, like "svwaha" (soft v). In TIBETAN it is Soha. (which is the same word, but phonetically Tibetan style). If you have the mantra from a teacher (transmitted) then you should do it as transmitted (if your teacher said "soha" during transmission then you normally use that.) Otherwise, it's best to use the Sanskrit, as transmitted by Buddha. Hope that helps. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

All Taras protect, although in her most wrathful black 🙏🙏🙏form, the 7th of the 21 Taras, she overcomes every evil, every enemy, obstacle, negativity - and even curses or evil forces.
(We always suggest asking your spiritual guide or teacher for something this serious)
Her mantra is among the most powerful of protections:
oṃ tāre tuttāre ture sarva vidyā avarṇā ye bhye phaṭ svahā
ओं तारे तुत्तारे तुरे सर्व विद्या अवर्णा ये भ्ये फट स्वहा ॥
