    Good to see you again, and I agree on all points. I must admit that I'm more invested in some other things like the ones you hinted at (abortion rights, gay marriage), because legalization of Marijuana not a topic that directly affects me (maybe at some point for medical reasons, who knows), and with all the other things going in the world I didn't really pay attention to this, but yes, I agree, it should be legal.

    You should ask, why they illegalized it at all? Then you'll probably stumbling about J.P. Morgan, who preferred the cotton but not the hanf🤔. It's a prohibition because of business interests.

    In my opinion, it should be legalized! Alkohol is more bad!

      I completely agree with you that it should be legalized, but not because alcohol is worse. In my opinion thats a dumb argument. It should be legalized because prohibition makes it even worse. People are consuming it anyway so it should be controlled, safe and taught how to use them. In my opinion that counts for every drug out there.

    The recreational use of cannabis has been legalized in 19 US states, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and D.C. Another 12 US states and the U.S. Virgin Islands have decriminalized its use.

    I enjoyed your video .. I am from Mill Basin NYC and moved to the UK in 2016, in furtherance of my career, as a medicinal research scientist, by trade. I have also been an avid cannabis smoker and advocate for many years.
    Just prior to the pandemic, I took a hybrid consultant role as a researcher for a Colorado based canna firm with a growing r&d unit.. I've really enjoyed melding my personal passion for cannabis with work ... As my US contract comes to an end, I am looking into the possibility of a similar role at a German lab/firm ... Thanks for your insight in this and your other vids, has been helpful in my research. Keep up the good work!

    The actual legalization of marijuana is likely to drag on until next year with a corresponding legal text, even though many lawyers are in favor of faster implementation. Many courts in particular have to deal with it completely unnecessarily, it consumes time and capacities that the courts would urgently need for other procedures. A step in the right direction has at least been taken, the mostly conservative forces in Germany should only have been made aware of how much money can be earned with it, what tax revenue would be possible and it would have been legalized earlier. Otherwise, there are always some other interest groups behind it, or powerful men usually want to make their mark on it.
    Usually, such things always involve some form of power over other people.

    I think we should legalise weed, because we A) do not need a police state going after migrants who sell weed because they don't have any income B) we can use the money that we save with the police for other more important stuff like education on drugs and better healthcare and C) we can also use the increased tax revenue for things.
    All in all weed is not perfect, we should not glorify or advertise the use of drugs. But the benefits of legalising weed outweigh the risks by far and in the very least they are in a far better proportion to each other than they are with alcohol.
    Honest to god, I think a lot of conservative people also don't want weed to be legalised because it might hurt the alcohol/beer industry.

    • @neevabee_
      @neevabee_  2 года назад +2

      You make such good points and I completely agree! I think you’re probably right about people not wanting recreational marijuana to interfere with the alcohol industry - I hadn’t even thought of that !

      @@neevabee_ There are studies from the University of Conneticut that show that in the US, where weed had been legalised even just for medicinal use, monthly alcohol sales went down by up to 15% although. So they found that weed is a strong substitute for alcohol especially amongst younger age groups.
      I think that beer lobbyists in Germany will know, that legalisation of weed after a while will create a culture similar to the one around drinking beer here and thus many will substitute alcohol with weed which will bring their sales down.

    Do you really think Germany is progressive and forward thinking? You kchnow, Germany is a fedearal republic with 16 different states, and while I think the city states of Hamburg, Bremen, and Berlin will gladly legalise Mary-Jane, I think the peasant states like Northrhine-Westfalia, Schleswig-Holstein, or Bavaria, where I live, will not. Since I can think, I signed petitions for legalisation, and it really caused me trouble. Now this government has promised to legalise weed nationwide, but, you know, federal republic, so every state must agree, and if only a single one doesn't, then that was it. And Bavaria will be the first in line.
    I don't trust in politicians, although, or maybe because, I once was one. Try and liberalise something in Germany, there's so much resistance to overcome, you'll give up sooner or later.

      I totally understand. I think you’re right that certain areas will be the hardest to work with - Bavaria definitely being a main issue. It’s unfortunate :/ I guess we can just wait and see what happens !

    First of all, I would like to say that I have never smoked a joint and do not intend to do so.Nevertheless, I think it should be legalized.I think alcohol and painkillers are much more dangerous. The risk of addiction and the consequential damage caused by abuse are far bigger. However, it should only be allowed to be sold in pharmacies from the age of 16 and at an affordable price.In return, alcohol and drug prohibition behind the wheel (also for bicycles) should generally be enacted by law. Both have no place when driving.

    In general, I agree with you, but please reconsider your statement on the subject of abortion - however, I do not want to deepen this topic in a foreign language. That leaves the question of whether legalizing marijuana poses a risk to others. On this point, public opinion is probably changing, probably simply due to the change of generations. Written with help of google-translator 🙂.

      I am curious to see see how things change for marijuana legalization here in Germany!

    • @seizegott
      @seizegott 2 года назад +4

      Why should anyone reconsider their pro choice stance, when the alternative - banning abortion - doesn't change ANYTHING about the reality that women will still have abortions only much more riskier than now. Abortions need to be safe, legal and yes, they also need to be rare. But we do not achieve that, by banning abortions. We achieve that by improving all the other conditions that give women a truly free choice for or against a child.

      @@seizegott Mein Vorschlag das Statement zum Thema Abtreibung zu überdenken hat sich auf die Aussage in den Untertiteln bezogen, dass Neeva Bee das ungeborene Kind als Teil des weiblichen Körpers sieht. Denn dies führt zu der Folgefrage, ab wann es dies nicht mehr ist? Nebenbei würde dies -nach deutscher Rechtsvorstellung- nicht unmittelbar zu einem Abtreibungsrecht führen, wie ein Blick in § 228 StGB zeigt. Nur will ich die Diskussion pro und kontra hier gar nicht führen, da es in meinen Augen ein ethisches Dilemma ist - also ein Problem für das es keine "gute" Lösung gibt. Beide extremen Positionen können zu unmenschlichen Ergebnissen führen. In meinen Augen machen es sich die Befürworter der extremen Positionen in der Regel einfach zu leicht. Aber dies ist keine Diskussion für meine "eingeschlafenen" Englischkenntnisse.

    I once tried a joint many years ago and had to watch (literally!) as I threw up on the living room carpet. So I don't have good memories, and neither do I have good memories of alcohol. Today I prefer not to meddle with my brain. But should the government interfere with what people do with their brains (or wombs / genitalia etc.!)? No, of course not.
