Definitely louder on the U11, clarity is still pretty good on the 10 but overall definitely an upgrade. I'm glad it's louder than the 10 because moving from the M8 to the 10 last year, the only downgrade was the speakers!
But tbh, just in terms of volume - the quality on the 10 was even better than on the M8 (and M9) and stil loud enough for most occasions. But happy to see, that the U11 seems to be up again at that level of the M8 & M9
I really love the Front firing Speakers of M8 and M9, I'm not a fan of HTC 10 set up but HTC proved me wrong on HTC u 11. They have proved that even on that speaker set-up. we can have an excellent sound experience on tiny phone speakers. Not to mention the quality of that Usonic. HTC is so back with the HTC U 11! worth every penny you'll spend on this device.

I think in person, in landscape mode, this is even more of a difference. In the 10, the bottom was bass, and top was treble, so even though it was "stereo" it was more like two mono speakers, not one unified sound. The 11 is different and better.
I compared them side by side today and I have to say M8 is still overall the king of mobile phone speaker. But U11's speaker is good as well, at least HTC managed to make the phone size smaller and still be able to pack in two good speakers!
From my shit monitor speaker at work I can tell that the U11 has a nice full and wide sound spectrum. Even with the vocals. Being a headphone audiophile it's good to notice all the important upgrades. Can't wait to buy this sucker. If audio sucks I don't give a crap about how nice the screen is (S8) lol

I'm currently using gs7 and love it's camera. was waiting for a 2017 flag ship device with well around specs. water resistant + that dual stereo speakers is enticing. how do you rate outta 10 ? . hope htc camera is not a hype didn't over pay dxo mark to give that 90 rating. thanks for taking the time to reply

Nithin Pm well depends also on users usage. but mostly I got the 5-6 hours SOT..on semi heavy usage. Battery like of this phone is enough to run till u charge before going to bed. but I still wish it has bigger batt tho.
I have an m8 and I like the sound better than the 10. Is the sound coming in stereo with this new setup or not? I hate that they changed the configuration of the speakers. That is what drawn me to htc in the first place. Another drawback in the placement is that you have to hold the phone differently so that you don't cover up the bottom firing speaker when watching a video or playing a game.

the HTC 11 doesn't have an audio Jack. so if you want to listen to some high end iem's you have to use a cumbersome adaptor. bear this in mind. The 11 has a bigger sound stage and is fuller in its mid-range than the m10. despite this, I will be getting the old m10 next week as I mainly listen to music through earphones.

M7's boomsound is excellent because of that 2 front firing speakers but HTC u 11 audio experience is an improvement from previous HTC Flagships even if it has a different speaker setup.
