This is EXACTLY what I needed to learn regarding caring for my large aloe babies. Thank you!!
this is eye-opening! I've been struggling with repotting my big aloes and thought cutting was the only way, because the root grew to an out-of-control length.
Hey there. I want to start an aloe farm but I don't know where to purchase the seeds. Where can I buy them please, I have tried to search on Google but I don't know if I should trust any of the sites selling the seeds in terms of whether its the plain aloe I'm looking for or whether they are legit in the first place. Please help.
@@princelobstarrr I started with a plant I got from a friend. I don't see many people started with seeds, or can even start aloe with seeds. If you happen to know anyone who grows aloes, ask them for a pup or ask where they got it. Aloe vera is quite resilient, so most of the time you'll be okay to start with almost any aloe plant.
@@princelobstarrr get a smal aloe and replant the pups/sprouts, it is exponential, is crazy fast thought
@@princelobstarrr Hi. I know this question is a year old, but just in case you're still trying to get started, I wanted to share that if you intend to grow the aloe for food rather than ornamentals, the best variety for this is called "Aloe Barbadensis Miller," as it has the highest values of specific nutrients, and the leaves are a good, hefty size.
Rather than starting with seeds, which can be challenging to get started, I would instead search for plants of the Miller variety. Depending on how much space you have and how quickly you want to reach the farm's capacity, buy a number of these and pot them in such a way that as the roots grow, they can easily find the surface of the soil; This is where the pups will develop. In a few months when the pups are strong enough, pull them off and plant, as before, with the root tips kind of pointing upwards so more pups will form. You can easily turn half a dozen plants into a hundred this way. I've been doing this with my smaller variety of aloe for 5 years now and I've never run low on plants to sell or give as gifts.
One trick I've been testing for a year or so - I purchased a 10' length of vinyl guttering, 2 end caps and 4 middle support pieces. I drilled drainage holes every 12" and used it to repot my pups. It's been working absolutely perfectly, and it was such an inexpensive and space-efficient solution! If you can attach the guttering to a fence or wall, or if you're able to build a vertical rack, you'll be able to fit a ton of plants in a very small footprint. I use this space as a propagation area for many different types of succulents, and vegetable plant starts as well. Sort of like a nursery for baby plants. When they're read to go in their own pots or be planted outdoors, it's so quick and easy to just pop off an end cap of the guttering and slide them right out!
I think this would work very well in a greenhouse as well, at least along the East, North and West perimeter, to really make the most of the limited space.
I hope this is helpful. Good luck to you with your farm! I hope you have great success. 🙂
This video and technique were EXACTLY what I was looking for!
I m aloe vera freak and i apply it day and night on my skin/hair for my skin care as i dont use any other skin care. Its extremely suitable in our hot and humid weather. I hve aloe plants in my garden but as i use them daily i need them to grow more and more , its not enough😁😁
That is really impressive to see the procedure step-by-step, so, you started from the top and going down, securing the mother aloe vera from the top and removing the bottom and removing all those baby aloe vera, it looked easier and safer to the plant.. I can see that the growth of the plant is not intervened and won’t die.
Thank you for taking time to watch and comment on the video. I really appreciate it. :)
This was the most helpful video. I have cut the roots to my 5 year old aloes that were in 5 gallon pots a piece. They survive and then thrived but it took along time for it to come back to full health. Close to a year
Thank you so much, this is just what i needed to see. Beautiful plants!!!
So nice of you. Thank you very much.

Thank you for this! My plant will never reach yours (indoor plant in Canada!) But it is big enough I had no idea how to fix the bottom without possibly killing it! I'm gonna try this! Thank you again!
I live in Al erta and I have an indoor Aloe big like this lol it thrived in my north window for over a year and then i moves it to a south window as it needed so much space! I fell on poor vera coming down my stairs(its on a landing) and will behead her but mayalso try this at the base to see if i can get more pups! She made 12 pups in north window and only 1 pup since putting in bigger pot in south.. The roots may be too deep as another commenter said...good luck!
This video is really helpful. ♥ Thank you. ☺️

Really enjoyed watching your video
Its absolutely beautiful! If you grow them for profit I am envious. I would die to have my hands in the dirt all day. Beautiful spot and beautiful plants. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. Subscribed!
Id never have thought of trying layering on somthing like one of these but thats a great way clone somthing thats so tempermental and hard to try do cuttings from.
I commented with time left so at end realised weren't doing quite what i thought as this was a fancy repotting.... could this be combined with a more traditional laying idea and cut the top once starts to root leaving the origional root stem which can then regrow giveng you 2 plants?
Most of the time, the lower part will grow many pups even before cutting.
Hi....such a nice video of describing of aloe Vera Plants and it's uses
Beautiful! Great video
Thank you very much!
Wonderful and very helpful video! Thank you! I have a very tall aloe that looks great at the top but I will need to remove some lower leaves from the leggy stalk. They are broken and/or looking sad. After removing them should I let the stalk then dry before trying this?
Yes, drying the stalk lessens the chance of rotting. Let it dry for a week.
Great method
Thank you
I try but never grow this plant big like this.i guess it's so hot where I come from.but I absolutely love this amazing plant.thank you❤️❤️👍👍
It is also very hot here, Aloe vera loves the sun.

These flexible pots/containers that you use are remarkable. What are they made of? Where to procure them?
Great ideas very excellent.
Glad you like them!
Great technique. How long do you have to wait for the cut leaves to heal before you cover them with soil?
Please, what kind of pots are you using. Thank you
Soooo, what I really need your help with is how should I layer my bigger sections of the plant. Unfortunatelly, they have grown down and around and I am at a loss as to how to save them. In your videos, when you are layering them, the are nice and straight, so it is easy to do, but mine are all crooked. What can I do to layer them????? I have also sent you a FB message with all the pictures so I am hoping you will have a solution for me.
i will try this

@@TheAloeVeraGarden I'm always a big fan of aloevera . But Unfortunately my aloevera is not growing as like your's sir. .... Btw I'm happy to see your aloe ...
@@allgood5968 Just be patient with your Aloe vera.... or don't mind it, you will be surprised. Sometimes, the plant wants to be left alone.. haha

This idea is genius, thanks for sharing. Your aloe vera are beautiful!! I have one in my kitchen that's getting too big, I was thinking about planting it in the ground in the spring, but now that I've seen this I might keep it in a pot.
I am glad that the video helped. Thank you for watching. :)

Like this abd thank for the update 😅
I love the music u use for your videos. I nvr knew the music wud be good when studying
I love my aloe plants, the biggest one I have is a little over 4 feet tall!!
Very nice
Excellent vid, and marvelous aloe! When you took off that one big leaf at the bottom, did you wait for it to scab over before you repotted or can it go straight into new soil?
I repotted it right away, those scabs don't hurt the plant, based on my experience.
So nice
wow👍
Hi. My aloe is vey tall and lanky. What can I do with it.
very good
Is it possible to grow alovera with one leaf
I love this. I had no idea you could do that. I have several aloe vera plants that could benefit from layering and repotting. What type of pot did you use for layering? It's very flexible. I need to get some. Where can I find it?
You can use any type of plastic for layering as long as it can hold the soil separately from the lower pot.
@@TheAloeVeraGarden thanks for the reply
Nice tips!!
Thank you very much.
Beautiful ❤️
you have a very good soil sir ? how ?

haha magkakaroon ka rin ng ganyan kapag lumaki na ang Aloe vera mo. Actually, medium size lang yan.
What type of sand/soil is that?
Where can I get rubber planters
Your collection is truly amazing. In which country do you live? Where I live Aloes can only stay outside for like 4 months..
I live in the Philippines. It's a tropical country. That variety in the video can thrive better in cold weather compared with the other one.
Can we propagate this big variety of aloe vera with leaves too?
So huge wowowow
