Set in a struggling radio station in Cincinnati, Ohio, the show follows the misadventures of the quirky staff as they try to boost ratings and navigate the challenges of the broadcasting industry. I always like Jan Smithers...and still do today😛...
Yes Loni was a bit muck nut Jan was cute
jan smithers yes
Salute !;!
Beautiful lady
Mary Ann over Ginger.
Thanks to the entire cast of WKRP for giving us all these great characters and years of entertainment.
Who was my favorite? ALL OF THEM!!! They were a perfect cast on a great show.
Agreed. They had a great chemistry together and played off of each other perfectly!
I was 23 in 1978 & EVERY guy close to my age had a crush on Jan Smithers. The whole show was perfectly cast!
Jan was really cute. I always felt like Loni was overdone. She reminded me of a streetwalker. Jan had a wholesome clean beauty.
Remember the turkey stunt for Thanksgiving?! Hahahaha! "I thought they could fly!"
....oh, the humanity!
@@r.o.1330 Hahaha!
One of the best episodes ever 😅
I recently bought a tee shirt commemorating that episode. It was always one of my favorites.
@@donnakubiski5572 my hubby bought me that tee and I was wearing it on an elevator and someone on there made a comment about that being the best show/episode! I love that shirt!
One of the best sit coms ever put on tv. Funny as hell!
Gordon Jump died in 2003, not 2023.
Said right, written wrong
Greatest TV series EVER. Dr. Johnny Fever is my altimeter favorite.
Loved the show. Was so sad that it ended so soon. Johnny was always my favorite but I loved them all.
It amazes me how most of the cast members eventually moved back to the towns they were originally from after the show ended and didn't stay in Hollywood! Without a doubt, Dr Johnny Fever is my favorite character from the show!
Why cut off the actors halfway through their sentence?
it would have been nice to let them finish their lines...
Venus looks great! I was a little kid when this show aired. Now my mom is 78 and I’m glad she’s still here because we watched together.
WKRP was one of the two best sitcoms to ever grace television screens (Golden Girls was the other one). I absolutely loved Herb Tarlek. Somewhere out there, a Volkswagen was missing it's seat covers.
Cheers was definitely #1
I think the best Herb episode is the one where he sells the ad for some kind of energy stimulant. A high school kid takes too many and dies. Herb goes on the air to apologize for WKRP running the ad. It added a lot to his character.
"we're really feeling the loss".. he says it with so much sadness it gets me right here!... Jeez!
Everytime I think of this show I recall the episode with Les Nesman and the live turkeys, one of the funniest things on tv
The show wouldn't be any good if even one of the cast members was not there. Great group of players! No other show has been able to replicate what they did. Really miss this one.
Jan Smithers is so pretty!
i loved anything that involved Venus and Johnny. They were hilarious together.
Oh what a great tribute to these great actors! All of them such a wonderful show. My favorite was Gary Sandy he was like the only normal one! Ha ❤️😂😂
This show should have lasted more than 3 seasons. The network pulled the plug too soon
4, but who's counting.😉 '78 - '82
Who's counting? @@Richard-or2km The bank accounts for each actor who lost their job prematurely, that's what counted.
@@John70965 Boy did you take my comment out of context.
I was impressed with Johnny (Howard Hessman) but liked them all. Favorite episode was when Gordon threw turkeys out of a helicopter for Thanksgiving. 🙏❤😅
Definitely! One of the greatest TV shows of all time. On my Top-5 list for sure. Probably my Top5. What a rich collection of characters.
I loved them all..very enjoyable.
I still watch the Turkey Drop scene now and then. Hilarious 😆
Excellent show, fantastic cast.
I met Gordon Jump once. We were at the same hotel. He was there with Maytag. I was there with the IEC (International Edsel Club). I met him right after breakfast. I asked him if he was the actor? He replied yes. I then introduced myself. My name happens to be Richard Jump. We happen to be very distant cousins.
A great show that has many happy memories !
You put gary Sandy's head on someone in a wheelchair, more click bait bs
Fav....Johnny Fever !!
Gordon Jump died in 2003, not 2023. Only off by 20 years. Nice job.
Allyn was 52. Only off by 10 years, a little closer, but still get the facts straight before you post a video. Right?
I caught that too.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This sitcom takes me back to my childhood. Good memories of this show.
One of the best. I still watch every now and then on stream. My favorite beside the Thanksgiving episode was when Less got dressed up for a date and Venus came in and said "Get down Lester" and Less squatted down with a scared look on his face. Oh and when he brought up Schistosomiasis to Johnny.😁
The doctor was my favorite character..."booger"!
Howard Hessman/ Johnny Fever 🤘 & Jan Smithers/ Bailey 🥰
How very respectful the commentator is of those who have passed. Very charming and endearing.
Thank you. It was difficult.to learn of the cast members that have passed. But will always be rembered the good Characters they play. my favourite couldn’t just pick one. ❤❤❤ them all.
One of the best tv theme songs ever...I'd sing along every episode...
My favorite episode was the turkey dropped from a helicopter show. That incident really happened, and it was a radio station that sponsored it. My favorite line from the entire series was Gordon Jump's line, "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly." It still makes me smile. Great show!
The butler, Hirsh, is my favorite!
Dude who can forget?... "Hirsh, this coffee is delicious " I know Madam that's because we had company" Hahaha!
there's a WKRP tribute radio station in Raleigh North Carolina
I was entering JR. High School at the time when this show came out. It taught me more about diversity than anything else in my life at the time.
Loved the show, great characters and actors with perfect writing... Venus was my fav 😊❤🎉
Venus! He was awesome but the whole cast was simply amazing! I was really young when the show came out but I remember watching it with my family. We still laugh till this day! Thank you for this video!
One of my ALLTIME favorite shows. As a kid in the 1970's, when Andy unveiled the KISS poster I was HOOKED! I have been a musician since the age of 6 and I used to look at the walls on the show for current albums by some of the biggest bands of the day! No other show like it! Question though, I know Richard Sanders was BORN in Harrisburg Pa (my lifelong home) and would have graduated when my Father did. But I thought I read his family moved from Harrisburg. Are you sure he still resides here now?
All of them. It was the best of times, and those years.
Watched it all the time!!
Jan Smithers is …..and !!!always will be my alll time favourite
Less Nessman always cracked me up!!
Me too. Remember when Johnny got him to say chihuahua? He said chee who a who a.
As a teen back then. I loved the show. Even my parents got a kick out of it.
Being a retired sales guy, Herb is my favorite! The epitome of a flashy, type A salesman.
Les was also an over-the-top character.
Gordon Jump was pilot. He flew small aircraft and he used to fly out of Moraine air park in Moraine Ohio.
He was close friends with Harold Johnson. Harold Johnson was the biplane pilot for the great turkey drop.
Gordon Jump was a very funny man. He used to have everyone rolling from his jokes at the airport. RIP he was a kind man.
He was also the bike salesman pred in Different Strokes
Nice to see the updates on the cast, despite some factual errors and cutting off what someone is saying. loved the show.
The narrator has such passion!
Think favorite was Dr Johnny
Great show, love them all.
I loved them all but that Herb Tarlek was hysterical! He was my very favorite.
I was so touched by the sadness in your voice when announcing the ones who have passed. Could you at least let them finish a sentence when showing a clip?
Gordan Jump died in 2003
I didn't think that sounded right when he said 2023.
Without a doubt my all time favorite character of WKRP was Dr. Johnny Fever. “Wake up brother it’s the phone cops”. 😂😂😂🤟🏻❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
Mind if I sit down?☕️
@@FleetwoodCaddy59 Mr. Carlson : do I hear dogs ??? Johnny Fever : I do. Loved that show and am so happy my wife humoured me and bought me the entire series.
@@jeffhunsingerI have it too!! It’s my 9yr old son’s favorite show. As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly. Love Mr Carlson,Johnny was my favorite character when I watched it with my dad. I didn’t understand a lot of the humor but I loved hearing my dad laugh. He was a very funny guy who didn’t really laugh.
@FleetwoodCaddy59 hold on to those memories. As long as you hold on to them our love ones will never be forgotten. I love that I can recall those memories watching WKRP. It brings back such great memories of my childhood .
@@jeffhunsinger 💕You’re so right,thank you.I will remember that.
All of them .
I was 13yo when it came out, they were all great👍
And in the words of Dr. Johnny Fever: BOOGER!!!!!!!!
Jan was awesome
I loved it!
#1... They could've put some music or something into the background at least giving us some sort of direction or guide. Love it all!!!
Bailey Quarters ( Jan Smithers) was my favorite. But I truly loved the show and the whole cast.
The Dr....the Dr Johnny Fever is immortal
johnny fever fav great show
It’s hard to pick just one, but I’ve always looked forward to seeing Lillian Carlson on the show ❤
great show
Did anybody ever explain why Les Nessman always had band aides in different locations? Every week, there was a new band aide.
good question!.. but did you know He also sang the Show's Intro? Yes He did is a fact....
@@chuyocaca4153
The opening theme, a soft rock/pop number called "WKRP in Cincinnati Main Theme," was composed by Tom Wells, with lyrics by series creator Hugh Wilson, and was performed by Steve Carlisle. An urban legend circulated at the time that Richard Sanders (who had comparable vocal characteristics to those of Carlisle) had recorded the song. Wilson stated in the commentary for the first season's DVD set that this was not true. Sanders would later "sing" the lyrics in a promo spot on VH1 for The New WKRP in Cincinnati that parodied the U2 song "Numb."
@@289cobra9 stand corrected!
Les and his bandaids was just a running gag throughout the series
Loni Anderson lives in Los Angeles not Minneapolis and Richard Sanders lives in Washington State, not Pennsylvania.
Good video but the production could have been better having the interviews louder.
Johnny Fever was my favorite, all the way down
I went on a date with Gary once. Nice man but weird. His family was very proud of him.
Stop with click bait. Also, word "feeling" is not pronounced "filling".
Great info, but some really awkward cuts.
One of my all time favorite shows. Great cast and some really funny episodes. It is not my number one sitcom because Seinfeld holds that forever for me. The reason is at times WKRP would have some kind of social message. Seinfeld never once tried to send out a message just made us laugh. Still watch WKRP whenever I find it running on a station. I wish this video was of a better production quality. Voice sounds like AI and some facts were not accurate and those clips did not makes sense as they were cut off too quickly. For that I would not subscribe to this channel. You have to put in the work!
Me Scott Hayes favorite character
in WKRP in Cincinnati is Doctor Johnny Feaver .
Loved this show especially the flying turkeys….
Great show. My Mom used to like it(she didn't watch a lot of tv). Jennifer ran the place. Not sure how many people picked up on this.
Absolute favorite is the mortuary owner boppin all creepy like to the commercial music.
LOVE ALL OF THEM ....... BUT THE BEST EPISODE IS THE TURKY DROP 😂😂🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍❤❤❤❤
Your graphic for Gordon Jump shows "2023" but as you pointed out he died in 2003...
I loved Les’s news helicopter noise by pounding on his chest.
Jan Smithers, I always liked her. She seemed like the girl next door. Overall though I'd say it was a pretty good cast.
l like all of them the same,,great sitcom
Arthur Carlson’s don’t line up. If he was 46 in 1978 and died in 2023 at age 71…I’m thinking he was 91 when he died. Or he died in 2003.
Richard Sanders was only 38? Wow! He looked older than me and I'm 56.
Can’t pick just one…..they were all good.
What's the point of showing the clips if you cut things off in mid sentence? This is very poorly produced and edited.
What's with the lines that are cut off mid sentence? And what else is incorrect?
Too bad they had AI do this, could have been so much better with a real life narrator
We used to always debate:
Bailey or Jennifer
Ginger or Mary Ann
Ralph Kramden or Ed Norton.
Still love “the turkey drop” episode.
Gordon Jump was 46 when the series began in 1978and died in 2023 at the age of 71?
Who could forget Venus explaining the atom? Brilliant!
Venus and the Man...that was a great episode: "All I know is that there are three gangs living in a round neighborhood." It couldn't have been explained any simpler.
Herb Tarleck was my fave
If you remember Billy Jack movie There is the first time I seen him
I greatly loved this series and had a HUGE crush on Loni Anderson. She looks to have aged quite well. Jan Smithers was also adorable. I also loved all the sexual stuff between Herb Tarlek and Jennifer Marlow. Bring back great comedy like this.
you and everybody else!
I used to spend hours in front of the mirror trying to get hair combed exactly like Andy Travis's plus my favorite episode of all is when Mr Carlson and Herb Tarlek did the live turkey promotion! Dumping live turkeys out of a helicopter! Haha! And do you people remember this episode? When fans actually got crushed to death at " The WHO concert " Dr Johnny fever is reporting it on air about the deaths at the concert , in all honesty Dr Johnny fever is about to lose it on air and I don't think that was acting at all ! That was real ! Gives me chills just thinking about it .
