Even at 41, my inner child was just absolutely thrilled when Santa entered the parade! Like I physically got the biggest smile on my face. Oh, the magic of Christmas.

I dont have a tv and had to work that day so thanks for showing this! Cant remember the last time I watched this parade.When I was a kid one of the newspapers would print a whole page for kids to colour! I wonder if they still do that.

Came to see the Grants Pass band do there thing and you did not even film it!!!
Another band went by and all that was filmed was the wall of a building. You cold barely see the tops of their hats. Who filmed this?

I just had an idea for It 2: Revenge of Pennywise. We see the obligatory scene in the Macy's parade where the Ronald McDonald balloon appears. After a half hour it is noticed that the balloon's shape is starting to cloud over and this is a clear day. Then it finally dissipates leaving a shocked populace seeing it changed. No longer does Ronald McDonald smile down at them, instead they are aghast to view Pennywise leering down with a sinister grin. As bad as that is the balloon handlers discover they don't have control of it. This is now something more different than a change in its structure. This is Pennywise himself, but twenty times larger than normal. He rears up scattering the clueless handlers that can't understand what happened sending them crashing in among the assembled crowd! Then Pennywise starts rampaging up and down the street stomping and kicking floats aside then grabbing and ripping apart any animal in the parade or person watching it that hasn't escaped. (That's as far as my inspiration[?] can go.)

The camera person turned from the parade to look at the audience behind too much, taking the camera from the action, especially the marching bands. Just stupid!

I remember when this parade was a sea of red and green ... PILGRIMS, TURKIES AND CHRISTMAS TREES..even a few santas.... everywhere.....WTF????
One of the traditions of the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade is Santa, the only santa, in the parade comes at the very end or very near to it. He closes the parade. I've watched this parade every single year since the 50's, even when I was overseas. I don't ever remember it being focused on red, green, pilgrims, turkeys, christmas trees or having more than one santa. I do remember in the early 60's the Peanuts group & Cinderella floats stole my heart. Bambi, Kermit the Frog, Big Bird, all the Disney characters.. even felix the cat have made numerous appearances. I also remember the colors, lots of colors always. Every color in the rainbow. This parade has, for many decades, been about everything that makes kids hearts sing and adults smile.

This is where the parade route starts -- up Central Park West by the Natural History Museum. That is the San Remo on the left with its twin towers.
What they show on TV is the end of the parade route....Herald Square.....in front of Macy's.

Amayah Yah Shabazz not really, last years was pretty good . It's a shame there's wasn't as much stuff as last year. But that Goku blimp takes the cake of the whole parade.
