With the power of Ableton Live and amazing plugins today, i find these box's a distraction to music.. it would only be in a live performance situation where i would acquire one.. they just do not do anything better or offer something unavailable in a computer.
I thought that too which is why I ended up returning my first Digitakt. Gave it a second chance and am really happy with it. It's not meant to better than Ableton Live - it's like an instrument of it's own. In my opinion it's fantastic at coming up with happy accidents and simply is another fun way to make music ;)
@@lotustunesacademy I could see a "knob per function" device as fun which a computer can't provide, (even their model samples welcomes that more) but with this menu diving "calculator" with clacky buttons and a 1k asking price ? sorry not my idea of fun. the happy accident environment one could create in Ableton along with max for live devices is just a whole other league. Elektron dropped the ball long ago, the mk2 is just a marketing dept pitch and product.
