    When Books, Kaijus and MST's are format staples, yugioh is at PEAK level. Glad you said it!

    While I agree with Josh's take on backrow removal, the only reason I run it is so I don't autolose to floodgates.

    • @DarkAuraLord
      @DarkAuraLord Год назад +2

      I find that take on backrow removal to be really strange considering that the formats where people maindeck backrow hate tend to be shit like Mystic Mine turbo or floodgate spam. I get where he's coming from in regards about *this* format specifically, as even outside of floodgate decks, there are decks with valid targets for backrow removal, I just don't know if I'd agree that it applies universally. When I think of people maindecking backrow hate, I don't think of a diverse and healthy format, I think of Mystic Mine being legal lol.

    when the top players test against each other aint that a disadvantages giving away all the info about your deck? i mean i guess top players know a lot about the game but you got dudes that dont even know what rikka does so idk, maybe im just overthinking it.

    • @usirup
      @usirup Год назад +21

      they need other players at their skill level to test with and there's not exactly easy pickings for that. you're sort of right in that it might lead to bad groupthink if it stays too much inside the testing circle but they have to test somewhere and surely the guu stays within the circle.

      honestly by the time you're more than a few rounds into the tourney, and definitely when you make it to day 2 or have a feature, everyone will already know what you're on. better to get good practice than to try and be more secretive for an advantage that only lasts a few hours

    • @AstorThalis
      @AstorThalis Год назад +2

      It's not like the chances are that big that you play against them early in a YCS-level tournament. And if it happens it's not that much of a disadvantage as you are also knowing what your opponent is playing.

      Honestly unless you have some spicy techs in your main deck, most of the top tier decks are pretty figured out and only have slight significant variance between deck list. So practicing against other top level players isn't an issue as mostly everyone knows what to expect for the main deck. It is the side deck that you keep hidden from other players really when you're practicing against them.
