I feel like Shang Tsung will get more popular/good as the game ages simply because of his mimic ability enabling pro players to have nearly unlimited flexibility in matchups
He's the next season's theme so I hope to see more moves added to his kit.
In every high-level Shang match-up I've watched, he gets screwed by side-switches or odd interactions. Add that unpredictability to how difficult the character is to play, I can't see him getting popular anytime soon.

@@tyrannosaurus696Side switches? Do you mean that the player drops their combo or potential combo conversion because don’t know what side they’ll end up on?
If that’s what you mean, wouldn’t that be player error rather than a character flaw?
@@mrnozchalazt7199no if you do the close ground skull to close it can accidentally side switch without knowing. But It can be counter acted if you wait a split second Shang will turn around in time to continue a combo. So it’s a mix of player era the the game interactions

Jokes aside, great match, was a bit nervous being my first experience playing on my first live match in r1p's arena, but it was awesome. Aress's General Shao was on another level, always a threat in kombat league, looking forward to improve and participate here.

I love post balance matches. Match1: Krohm is a strong sub player. I believe sub is getting much stronger as others are being nerfed. I believed in our boy Aress from the start though, Krohm did a good job. Match2: Val is the best Tremor user ive seen. That sliver comeback though broke his momentum and MkJavier snowballed his way to victory there. I have seen this happen alot. Match3: Rinzler with the Li Mei? Nice one. Hodie though is a master of the sorcerers, albeit his victory does not come easily and this goes the distance but you will see great stuff from both. VL calling the sub armor with its proper name instead of moncleasy kinda messed me up XD. Match4: Goku is a very descent Smoke player but we talk VGY, we are talking about a prodigy here and he is also a multi character master which makes him a perfect shang player. Combined with his incredible fundamentals you have one of the most dangerous combinations in here. Match5: Krillin might be known for dying in dbz but this Krillin decided to show the heart he actually has in the anime :P. With an amazing reptile mavado he slowly defeats one of our arena staples Bwooo which is not an easy task and Bwooo does not cut any corners either. I love how Sonya's improved buffs played such a role in this win.
