    Thanks for watching my first attempt at making the most perfect, custom fit climbing shoes! In this video, I made a plaster model of my foot which I then put in a new pair of climbing shoes (rock boots) to stretch them out and get the perfect fit. I am really excited by how well everything went in this video, and I hope to improve the design in the future. I really like the idea of having climbing shoes that are still snug, but don't apply unequal pressure to different parts of your foot. Stay tuned for the next part where we will make a foot out of metal to really see what this idea can achieve!

    You probably should have scrunched up your foot while making the mold so that the mold would be in the same shape that your foot would be inside a climbing shoe.

      @@tovawr you're entitled to an opinion but this is a matter of fact. That's demonstrably false and completely illogical.
      I'd have worked out what you meant by external force by the way, buddy.

    The simplest way will take about an hour, out your shoes in the oven at about 85c, after fifteen mins take them out and then with a pair of thin socks on, get into the shoes, tighten how you would like, then put another pair of socks over the shoes and just go for a little walk about your house until the shoes cool down, make sure you spend a bit of time on your toes. And there you go, now your shoes will be perfectly broken in, and it’s taken you maybe 45-60mins

    • @lkrphrst
      @lkrphrst 9 месяцев назад +2

      Why would you walk around in them? That makes your foot take in more space, the shoes are meant for climbing and not for walking ...

      You are damned right. If you have more fun breaking in your new climbing shoes by using the most time-consuming technique possible, and less by climbing itself, then he has probably found the best method...
      But somehow I suspect that this brilliant idea won't catch on. similar to diet water, the DVD rewinder, or the banana-cutter...
