    ✨SIDE NOTE : I get a lot of questions about my stretched ears, how I got them to this size (currently 1 inch!) etc. One thing I always say is LISTEN TO YOUR BODY, and take your time when stretching. Personally, I love ear stretching kits because they take the guess work out. Everything’s laid out for you and they’re super easy to stretch with!✨

    Twisting with locking gels/wax never works for me so I resorted to interlocking. This reassures me.

    Thank you so much for posting this ! I started my set of 60 traditional locs back in Feb 2023 and transitioned to interlock maintenance in May. I was struggling with continuing to interlock because I thought my locs wouldn't thicken up enough, and literally almost cut everything off to start over last night 😂. It's great to see that trusting the process will end well !

      8 months later and now I’m finding this so helpful. Thank you so much. I have thick locs and changed to interlocking in January 2024 I’ve been locked since January 2023. Gel retweet were just not doing it plus I have a scalp skin condition so gel is a big no. I am very afraid of my locs not thickening up but I have to do what’s best for my health and gel retwists were too much stress plus they don’t last and made my scalp very itchy within days. I haven’t gotten them interlocked again since jan 2024 but I’m going in like 2 days let’s see how it turns out ig. Thanks for this video again!!

    Ty for sharing. I started my own locs. I haven't done the interloc method yet, but I'm going to try it. I have about 80 locs. I did mine smaller. I love your thick locs and messy parts.

    • @MargauxChanel
      @MargauxChanel  4 месяца назад

      You’re welcome, though I actually don’t have random “messy”parts. They’re all in a brick lay pattern (this was intentional), but since I started each locs section thicker than average, to the untrained eye you couldn’t tell. Also, they’re locs, so as they’re maturing, I’m not very concerned with keeping every part super straight, I’ll save that for the sister/micro loc girlies.

    Thank you for this. My son just started his locs and due to his eczema, we have to wash his hair twice a week, which destroys retwists 😩 looking forward to trying this so he doesn't have to cut his hair ❤

    i always heard that interlocking makes your locs thinner!!! yours look full and beautiful! i have about 100ish locs so maybe ill give interlocking a go

    • @MargauxChanel
      @MargauxChanel  8 месяцев назад +6

      Ironic you mention that, because I just recorded a video on the misconceptions of interlocking, how it actually DOESN’T thin out your locs and my experience with it on my thicker locs. It’ll be up soon!

      @@MargauxChanelwere your locs always interlocked or did you switch from retwisting at some point? I’m 15 months into my journey and I want to switch over to interlocking but scared it’ll show a huge difference

      @MargauxChanel  3 месяца назад

      @Zhaanaay I have retwisted a handful of times, but overall have maintained through interlocked far more than I have through retwisting.

    it seems like you retwist the loc first and then interlock. does that help maintain the thickness?

    • @MargauxChanel
      @MargauxChanel  9 месяцев назад +6

      Not sure if it helps keep them thick, since thickness is based off of hair density and texture; but for me, since my hair tends to grow AWAY from the loc, wrapping them around the loc first before interlocking helps them stay in place longer.

    Does it thin your locs and or edges

    • @MargauxChanel
      @MargauxChanel  21 день назад

      Nope! Personally, I haven’t experienced any thinning at all; only condensing. In fact, the parts that have been interlocked are the MOST solid parts of my locs.

  • @emilyortega1331

    So I do my gfs hair and she has smaller parts. So before I did her hair, her mom would. And well you could tell the difference like mine starts thin and tight but her moms are thick. it’s not an obvious difference but more down to her roots it’s tight and more towards her ends it’s loose to a point that it’s spongy. basically the ends of her hair are as thick as yours so I’m asking like towards your roots are they thin and tight and then they just like get thicker or is there like a technique to it that I’m not doing she really likes the thick part and I don’t wanna deprive her of that, but we don’t have money to take her to loctictan.

    • @emilyortega1331
      @emilyortega1331 5 месяцев назад

      I used to do a 4 point rotation but now do 2 because it’s faster

    • @MargauxChanel
      @MargauxChanel  5 месяцев назад

      Well mine are thicker and bumpier towards the ends because I started with two strand twists. And as far as my interlocked roots, yes, they are slightly slimmer than the rest of the locs due to condensing/compacting (the nature of interlocking), but overall interlocking hasn’t affected the size of my locs much, they’re still pretty thick.
