Lyrics are something new for me - I LOVE this song and always have. Another majorly underrated song - so many in this Zepp Tokyo show! I wish they'd sell the damn video again!
I've been to three concerts, not one, but three, I chased them for half of Europe after the first concert, because I was shocked. I have been for 2 hours with straight body hair, and at certain times I was so excited that I almost cried. I am not a kid, I am an old silver wolf, fond of all kinds of music. In more than forty years of concerts, I have been able to see all the possible bands, and I can tell you that after the super bands of the 70s I had never felt such powerful emotions at a concert, the Band-Maid rock !!! in the concert, they have a dominant bass and drum sound, and great power, especially if you stand against the stage like I was. Even with this great power, the sound is clean and you can hear every note and nuance. You will literally vibrate with Misa and have Akane in your bones. You will have fun with Miku who is incredible in concert, and she has a very high rhythmic sense by continuing to play against Misa and Kanami, giving the songs a lot of energy and originality. Kanami will straighten your hair with his guitar that becomes an emotion generator. Then put all this Saiki on top. With all her elegance and her incredible natural intonation, her crazy presence without exaggerating in dancing or anything, and you will be done, done without hope.
Your BAND-MAID journey is chose really good route. Some reactors chose wrong entrance, saw only the tip of the iceberg, and left before meeting the treasures. You're the best!!! keep going🔥
Kanami has publicly credited Carlos Santana and Eddie van Halen as influences, but she's also been greatly influenced by the jazz-fusion players (McLaughlin, Di Meola, Metheny, Holdsworth et al). Another influence, and a friends of hers, was the late Mikio Fujioka, of Babymetal's Kami Band. He tended toward jazz-fusion when he played with his own band at clubs, and Kanami used to go see and hear him. The sophisticated harmonies Kanami gets in her arrangements comes from those influences. Fujioka, in particular, was a walking encyclopedia of music theory and history, and Kanami would talk with him at the clubs. The Japanese music scene, as competitive as it is, is also very fraternal and supportive, and the members of the various bands tend to be acquainted with each other. That's one reason why (pre-Covid, and I hope post-Covid) Japan has by far the best live music environment in the world.
@@hiawatha.g There's a YT clip of Santana jamming with a group of jazz-fusion greats, including Chick Corea, John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter. When Corea passed away a few weeks ago, and Kanami posted on her Bandmaid Twitter that she was praying for his soul, I posted the clip to her Twitter. Actually, she probably already knew about it.
If anyone's thinking Band-Maid is just now coming into their own from all their recent drops, please remember: Early Band-Maid songs from years past are just as hot and fresh as the new, current releases! So the songs you haven't heard yet from their 114 song catalog sound, in essence, brand new. Thanks for your continued support for our rockin' Maids!
Best. Song. Entry. In. History.! When guitars sound that's the "real" beginning of the song. Oh my god, that was as softly put as warm butter on a slice of bread. Absolutely loved that start 0:48
I listened to this song for the first time in a long time. The best groove feeling. They may have been at the time when songwriting and techniques were soaring. Kanami is too cool !!!
They get me every time still...I have this but it has been a while since I heard this version. Thanks. They have so much out there it takes a while for the cycle to complete.
No band has followed one of the best hard rock albums ever (Just Bring It!) with another album (World Domination) of equal quality and arguably more dynamic range (the incredible forays into ballads with "Daydreaming" and "Anemone"). "Turn Me On" is just one of the absolute bangers off World Domination. And then they follow up with Conqueror and Unseen World. I can hardly wait for Epic Narratives. Band-Maid are the glorious real deal - the best hard rock band on the planet ... and they have been so for the past 7 years. I've not forgotten Unleash - and, in my mind, I've always thought of New Beginnings and Brand New Maid as side 1 and side 2 of an album that has been split in half (I'd call this fantasy album, Reset). All three EPs, of course, are epic.
MISA has influenced me more than any bass guitarist since I discovered Chris Squire, Geddy Lee, Jaco Pastorius, and luminaries like that. I'm not saying she's up there with them in skill (although she may be; it's not like skill can be measured), but her tone is so killer that I switched to Orange amps in hopes of capturing a little bit of what makes her so great. Moreover, she makes me want to practice my slap bass a lot more.
With Band-Maid I get like I would get when I got off the rollercoaster. You know when you actually get off and for the next few minutes when walking it still feels like your legs are wobbly and you still feel the effects? With Band-Maid I noticed your head bobbing after the song was over when giving your review. I am the same way but didn't notice it until I watched you and our heads were in sync lol.
Subs.. great reaction 👍. Ooh i really miss when seeing reactors first react Band Maid songs from their lives 2017 and 2018, like Awkward, One and only, Take me higher, and many more. So good to watch 😁
🙌🏻 Woo, still my fav Band Maid song so far 🙌🏻 This one's got everything for me, specially Misa's start & the 2 vocals. Last time I looked this vid was only available 1 place online I saw ( that isn't a reaction 😆) , which probably explains why there aren't more reactions to it when the reactors are all so Band Maid now.
The halcyon days when Akane still wore her Tiny Hat (RIP) & you could walk in London in just your B-M boxers singing "Turn Me On" without getting your head kicked in :)
@@satocalbee8857 Thx Sato. You never know when you'll need to cover your modesty. Nah who am i kidding, that apron would be on display with the B-M song plaque i won :)

The jazz-fusion influence is clear. Re. Santana, she surpassed him long ago. It's sweet of her to keep crediting him, but she's in a different league.

The studio version didn't start with a MISA bass solo. And that is one of the reasons why fans say that Band-Maid is best live.
that and the CRUNCHY PIGEON (who doesn't like a bit of Crunchy Pigeon)

You're really hitting your stride with the combination of close observation and enthusiasm. Nice.
Thanks!
Kanami writes the music, and she's something of a RIFF MACHINE! Most songs have more than one killer riff...hehehe
I love all of your reactions. Also you are today years old and you now know the word is "riff" not "rift".
Always love the bass solo start of this song

Sounds like Misa and Kanami had a rift, but they worked it out with some riffs during the bridge.
The word I have come to describe this performance as is: Tight...
