My 3 month old niece past away two years ago... This song was sung at her funeral. Today was her birthday and I found your excellent version to spend time praying for her this morning. Thank you for hitting sweet notes!

I'm sorry for you family's loss. Even after two years something like that is still pretty emotional. The thing about posting music is that you never know how it might touch, move, or inspire someone and I'm really glad if this gave you some time for prayer and reflection. Comments like yours make me feel like I might be doing something worthwhile way beyond just demonstrating an instrument.
      Thanks!

I gotta say that the tone of these cigar box fiddles sound better with these old timey songs than... i'd say real violins, but yours is just as real.

Thanks Dragoon. These are re-cycled tuners. A friend of mine went to the auction after Danny Gatton passed away and got a box of old tuners that Danny had taken off guitars. No bushings but they work pretty well. Rectangular with hemi overtones indeed!

Have you ever considered making a handgun case violin? small cases like handgun cases already have a divet in the side, you just gotta remove the handle.

    • @morbanjo2503

Gracias Jorge, this box is plywood with a paper cover. I used the bottom for the sound board since it didn't have paper on it.
